Ncube just as incompetent now as during the GNU

"We have never pretended that we did well in the election. We failed dismally. Yes we lost and that means we now need to work harder than we did in the past," said Professor Welshman Ncube.

"Failure is what life teaches us and I think our determination and conviction is to now work harder so that we become the party we ought to be, one which represents the people effectively."

So after a year-long sabbatical for him to reflect on his own pathetic person performance and that of the party he is leading and for the disastrous consequences of his failures to the nation to sink in. And after all that all the Professor can come up with is an admission that his party "did not do well in the elections! It was self-evident long before the voting on 31st July 2013 that Mugabe would rig the elections.

The only important lesson here for the Professor to have learnt is why the failure to implement the reforms made vote rigging self-evident and hence the reason why so many observers including SADC heads literally begging all the MDC factions not to take part in the elections without the reforms.

Whether Professor Ncube likes it or not the key issue he, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, David Coltart, Eddie Cross and all the other MDC leaders cannot run away from or gloss over no matter how hard they try is: why they failed to implement even one democratic reform although they had five years in the GNU to do so. Not even one! There are only two explanations why they failed: one, they were side tracked by the trapping of high office they forgot about the reforms. Two, more significantly, they are so breathtakingly incompetent they failed to see the critical importance of the reforms as the only way to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship.

Professor Welshman Ncube and his fellow MDC friends have learnt nothing from the blatant vote rigging by Mugabe other than that they lost their seats on the gravy train. They are the same breathtakingly incompetent village idiots who failed to appreciate the importance of the reforms and a democratic constitution; that has not changed. Professor Ncube has his mind completely focused on getting back on the gravy train it has not yet occurred to him that Mugabe and Zanu PF will rig the next elections just as easily as they rigged the July 2013 unless the reforms are implemented first before the elections.

In the last few months, the penny has dropped in the thick heads of some of his MDC colleagues on the need to implement the reforms before the next elections although they have not said how this will be accomplished now that the best chance to do so during the GNU was wasted.

The GNU offered the best chance since independence for Zimbabwe to end the Zanu PF autocracy and to replace it with a healthy democratic system of government only real breathtakingly incompetent village idiots would have failed to see this historic opportunity. To dismantle the autocracy now will be a Herculean task demanding real quality leaders and to entrust the same failed village idiots to do it would be an act of folly on the nation's part.

It is bad enough that the nation failed to see people like Professor Ncube and Morgan Tsvangirai for the hopelessly incompetent leaders they are all these last 15 years as they blundered from pillar to post. Their failure to implement even one reform should have settled the matter of just how incompetent they are. If the voters still want these failed individual to lead irrespective of their proven track record of failure then so be it.

For the nation the lesson of the GNU years is that it pays to elected quality leaders; if we want the same mediocre leaders again then we clearly failed to learn the lesson and so it will be repeated again and again until we learn. The economic meltdown the nation is going through could and should have been avoided if MDC had implemented the reforms and the July 2013 elections would have been free, fair and credible!

People get the government they deserve; we certainly deserve this Zanu PF dictatorship and the incompetent opposition. The economic meltdown and the brutal repression are our reward for our laid-back approach to life.
