Can celebrities ever keep their zips closed?

CELEBRITIES mirror and influence societies.

It has become a norm that the so-called celebrities should lead by example, but it has turned out it is too hot to handle as most of them fail to set the pace.

It seems a number of male musicians have failed to keep their trousers' zips closed. This has seen a number of them bearing children out of wedlock with a number of women.

International musicians like Lil Wayne and Jay Z and Kanye West have been caught on the carriage way having children out of marriage.

The extracts from a book by Zimbabwe's music legend Oliver Mtukudzi, Tuku Backstage, published recently, tallies with what has been done by a number of male musicians. Tuku Backstage will be published before year end.

Tuku was first married to Melody, but during that time he was also involved in an extra marital relationship with Daisy. Melody and Tuku later divorced because of the relationship and he got married to Daisy, the mother to the late Sam.

"Actually, Mtukudzi had a secret friendship with Daisy while he was married to Melody. The bride price for Daisy was paid when Tuku and Melody were still legally married and living together as husband and wife," read part of the extract.

Extracts of the book read: "When it comes to Tuku's secret of children, I was never told about Sybil. Nobody told me about her. Men have these promiscuous relationships in private.

"I think Sybil's mother worked in a hair salon in Harare and met Tuku in Mazowe where he was performing.

"A cousin sister, who lived in Mazowe, said she understood there was a child thought to be Tuku's daughter living in Mazowe.

"When I asked Tuku about it, he first denied any knowledge of Sybil," read part of the extract as published in some sections of the media. It is not yet clear what the legendary singer thinks of the storyline.

On the other hand, Sungura maestro Alick Macheso has on several occasions been reportedly involved in multiple affairs with a number of women.

Macheso first married Nyadzisai and hit the headlines when he married his second wife Tafadzwa Fortunate Mapako whom he divorced this year. In 2011 Macheso was at it again after he married 23-year-old Adeline.

Allegations of another musician, Rockford Josphat, are that he fathered more than eight children with different mothers.

A number of musicians, including legendary Lovemore Majaivana have found themselves sailing in the same boat.
