VP Mpoko says able bodied should not be vendors - of all the stupid marks that is top

27 Jan 2015 at 16:07hrs | Views
"I have got my own views regarding vending where you find an able-bodied man seated selling tomatoes. There are better things to do for someone who I fit except for those who are indisposed and physically-challenged," the VP Mpoko said.

This Zanu PF regime has denied there was mismanagement and corruption for decades allowing these cancerous problems to grow and spread to every sector of the nation's economy. After 35 years these tumours have now grown to the size of tennis balls and they are main causes of the economic meltdown killing the nation.

Companies have been closing down throwing more and more people on the Mount Everest of unemployed because no company or business can survive much less thrive given that the gross mismanagement and rampant corruption are sucked up all the money and resources only to have them wasted.

Being corrupt has worked in the past but even the corrupt are feeling the heat of the economic meltdown gripping the nation. Minister Obert Mpofu is corrupt, one of the nation's guru in the business, and yet ever since he was booted out of the ministry of mines his business empire has flagged; his bank has closed and his Zimbabwe Mail paper is on the ropes. Only the corrupt few with Suspension Bridge size stainless steel rope political connections, like Grace Mugabe, have continued to thrive and prosper regardless of the nation's economic nose dive.

So what exactly does VP Mpoko expect the ordinary able bodied citizen but honest to do for a living other than eke a living from kiya kiya? Here is a man at the very top echelons of political power, who should be forcing the regime to do something to cure the nation of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption, but is instead blaming the ordinary person, the victim of the regime's ruinous incompetence, for the country's economic collapse.

There are stupid statements and then very stupid statements; VP Mpoko's remark is the top crust of the very, very stupid statement. With such stupid leaders, it is little wonder the nation is in this man-made hell-on-earth!

The need for Zimbabweans to take the business of understanding the big issues affecting the nation has never been greater and more urgent than it is right now. Because it is only when the people themselves understand the big issues that they are able to pick the good leaders from the sea of stupid self-seeking village idiots whose only ambition is to enrich themselves at public expense. Only an electorate that understands the key issues, at least, can hold the leaders to account if they should fail.

Nations that have prospered and are prospering today have all one thing in common – an informed and diligent public/electorate that have ensure the destiny of the nation is never entrusted to stupid village idiots for long, if at all. We have allowed corrupt and murderous tyrants and/or village idiots run riot and little wonder the nation is in political chaos and the economy in ruins.

We have to put on our thinking caps on if we are ever to get out of this mess. We have able bodied citizens led by mentally challenged leaders; we need competent leaders!
