One of the greatest tragedies to befall Africa is some people's inability to stop and objectively review how they have been performing and adjust accordingly. It is as if the review button is their mental tape is stuck in the off position. They set off back in 1980, like the rest of us, with an idea of who Mugabe was as a leader, for example. Whilst over the last 35 years a normal human being would have reviewed their opinion of Mugabe as the true picture of the man moved from liberation hero to a murderous tyrant. Sadly that is not so with some people like Suitable Kajau, their review button in their brain is super-glue in the off position; they are stuck with the old and out dated liberation war hero image.

"President Mugabe does not govern by public opinion polls, but instead makes decisions by following his own unwavering moral compass that is rooted in a sense of absolute right and absolute wrong," wrote Kajau. "Since his youthful days he was under impetus to fight white colonial systems which deprived the black Africans of their fundamental freedoms. He participated as a formidable fighter that eventually brought independence to Zimbabwe. The ultimate victory of the black liberation movements shamed the British colonial master and relegated it to the dust-bins after a century of exploiting the local resources that were shipped abroad to foster development in the West.

"The achievement of independence angered the white men who tried any form of trickery to discredit President Mugabe who nevertheless continued to embarrass them as he continued to apply policies that benefitted the local people. He is the only leader in Africa who is famous for achieving both, political and economic independence for his people."

I could have reproduced the whole article and many others by Kajau the theme is the same, how Mugabe has stuck out his middle finger to the British and the West and "embarrass them".

What is shocking and disappointing about simpletons like Kajau is how they have completely failed to see that Mugabe has more than embarrassed millions of ordinary black Zimbabweans he has denied them of the freedom, human rights, hope and their very humanity.

35 years of Mugabe's misrule has Zimbabwe into one of the most corrupt nation on earth rich in minerals and other resources and millions are living in abject poverty because the nation's riches are all a preserve of the few ruling elite. 300 000 children who should be in school are not because their parents can hardly afford to feed them let alone pay the school fees.

Mugabe has murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans in politically motivated violence to establish and retain his one-party, Zanu PF, dictatorship.

Of course there is no Zimbabwean out there who can say they have remained untouched by the criminal waste of human and material resource that has been going on in Zimbabwe. Yes even Mugabe himself has been adversely affected; his increased looting of resources to give to his daughter at her wedding is in response to the dog-eat-dog fight for the few remaining resources caused by the on-going economic meltdown. So how is it possible that people like Kajau can see the embarrassment Mugabe is causing to the British but will not see the heart-breaking human tragic he is causing to the black Zimbabweans?

Mugabe's ability to denounce the British and the West with his anti-white rhetoric has made him a hero to many Africans and many outsiders. I hold them all in total contempt for their indifference to the sufferings and deaths Mugabe has brought to Zimbabweans; they do not care as long as Mugabe continues to embarrass the British. So Mugabe is getting off scot-free over the murder of over 30 000 just because he said the only Blair he knows is a Blair toilet! What an insult to the dead and living!
