President Robert Mugabe has got a ubiquitous presence on the Zimbabwean political landscape. A charismatic figure who had the fortune of being at the right place at the right time. It is an open secret that he is by far the most popular figure in the history of Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe has been blessed by God to be given such a brilliant and intelligent leader in the name of His Excellency President Robert Mugabe. Throughout the world the man has been pinpointed as one of the greatest statesman. When the country attained its independence the President was welcomed by a rabble rousing welcome and has been winning all the successive elections without significant opposition.
President Robert Mugabe has been appointed and elected in different portfolios including holding the posts of Non Aligned Movement chairmanship, Southern African Development Community chairmanship and currently the African Union chairman. All progressive and like minded people should emulate the legacy of this true son of the soil.
What does President Mugabe have in common with the nationalists in the name of Gaddafi, Hugo Shavez, and Fidel Castro? The question is of course rhetorical and the answer is obvious. Like the mentioned leaders, President Mugabe is guilty of insubordination to the proverbial godfather of the world: United States of America imperialism and its allies.
Like the mentioned leaders, President Mugabe has committed the cardinal sin of challenging the unbridled reign of global capital of not following the economic "guidelines" of the captains of global finance, that is the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Trade Organisation, as well as of refusing to join US military alliances in different parts of the world.
Also like other nationalist leaders, President Mugabe has been and is still advocating for social net or welfare state programs not for giant corporations, as is the case in imperialist countries, but for the people in need.
At this moment in time as true patriots of this country we should come up with a common allegiance towards the celebration of the birth of our beloved President who master minded our liberation from the white colonialists. Your Excellency we wish you many more years to come.
