Give Grace Mugabe a rest

It is worrisome that some political analysts and some sections of the media continue to paint a bad picture of First Lady, mentioning a number of pointless statements that tarnish her image and reputation.
One cannot resist from the fact that First Lady is a diligent and focused woman. Dr Mugabe was elevated to become the ZANU-PF women's league secretary after the party realized her dedication, commitment and hard work that she contributes towards the party.
The ruling party, ZANU-PF, has witnessed some magnificent developments in the party following First Lady's elevation into the mainstream politics. There were indeed bad rotten apples in the party that wanted to spoil good ones. Dr Mugabe managed to openly expose some of the bad elements that were planning to unconstitutionally overthrow President Mugabe. Therefore, First Lady deserves any Ministerial post in the government.
One of the local press recently published an article titled, "Grace eye Defence Ministry". First Lady is a human being just like anyone else, therefore, the fact that she is willing to take up whatsoever Ministry does not matter. First lady possesses excellent leadership qualities; hence she deserves any Ministerial post.
In addition, some political commentators were recently hitting hard again on Dr Mugabe when they were accusing her of sitting at the front seat which they allege were reserved for the party's presidium during the Politburo meeting. Honestly, I don't see any reasons for condemning the First Lady about that. On his Facebook page, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting services Professor Jonathan Moyo noted that, the sitting arrangements were set up in the absence of the First Lady, accordingly, she had to follow suit the arrangement.
"The arrangement, if we can call it that, was not decided by Dr Mugabe, as suggested by your question. It was a matter of following well-established protocol in such circumstances", said Professor Moyo.
What surprises me is that during the ZANU-PF 6th People National Congress that was held in December last year, First Lady as usual sat next to the President in the front seat. Even during the Central Committee meetings, First lady always sits next to the President.
It is noble for women like Dr Mugabe to be included in politics and decision making processes. President Mugabe enacted policies like Gender equality so as to empower women such that they can have a voice and be heard in all decision-making processes and political positions. The policy also seeks to provide guidance for the achievement of gender equality in the country in all sectors of the economy.
What excites me most is the fact that First Lady is not a pretender like what other politicians do. Surely, if Amai Mugabe's innovative skills are practically applied, she will indeed help transform the country's economy to greater heights. It is worrisome that senseless and ignorant people like expelled, ex-ZANU-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa, continue to tarnish the reputation of First Lady through uttering nonsensical statements like, "First Lady now runs ZANU-PF".
Dr Mugabe's pragmatic approach in trying to restore the status of the economy should be hailed.
