Not Sure if Morgan Tsvangirai Clearly Understands the Sanctions Issue

22 Mar 2015 at 06:53hrs | Views

I read in New Zimbabwe.com today that Morgan Tsvangirai was pleading with the US President last week for economic sanctions against Zimbabwe under ZIDERA to be removed. His basis was that at least there would not be any other excuse for Mugabe to blame for his failure to run the country. By letting him free, then Mugabe would be himself to blame. I wondered which Mugabe he was referring to. I thought Tsvangirai was with the people who were made to suffer through Mugabe's destruction of a once promising Zimbabwe? Now I am confused on which organization Tsvangirai works for.

This came as a shocker to me. I questioned Tsvangirai's IQ and ruled clearly and unequivocally that he was an overgrown baby. I wasn't sure what he was promised by Mugabe to come out with such puerile and embarrassing thoughts. Maybe he had been promised that the hovering eviction from the Highlands mansion could be spared. I wasn't sure. Or there would be a humungous cash prize if the sanctions were lifted.

Then I concluded that MT was the dumbest leader that I ever saw because he forgot the objectives of the sanctions. They were imposed to put pressure on Mugabe to reform on the rule of law and human rights. This was the only way to make him walk the line and the effect could be felt as Mugabe would sweat and tremble as he made endless denouncing of the sanctions using various deprecatory remarks. Illegal, evil, satanic sanctions. The list could be endless but they are working against Mugabe. He has no free entry into Europe or America except for UN meetings as he views the destinations from hotel rooms and limited space. Mugabe wanted Robert Jr. to come and make trials for the NBA in LA. He wanted the shopaholic wife Grace to come and finish off her appetite for shopping in America and London. That's the only reason they want sanctions removed so they can travel and shop. It's like having a bus overturned so that people can use the tires to light a fire to warm themselves at the peak of Winter. That's just how silly the analogy gets.

This is a time when Itai dzamara has been abducted by the CIO. A critical time when Mugabe needs pressure to respect the provisions of the Constitution. Such a special time when Tsvangirai should be siding with the real cause for social justice and speak sense. I am not sure how much more Tsvangirai needs to prove that Mugabe does not care for his people. Then he now wants him to have a free pass into the West to shop. And he wants financial transactions loosened so that he can make the last scoop before he goes to see God. I am not sure whether Tsvangirai gets drunk first before talking or is just hallucinating.

That makes me think he needs to see a psychiatrist. Ever since Tsvangirai lost his wife (which I think he celebrated, based on his promiscuity just after wife loss), he has never been a reasonable man. He makes dangerous, jaw-dropping and careless statements. He does not seem to understand how policies work and he needs a guardian. Obert Gutu, where are you? Why do you let him play with the microphone or computer? He can be a danger to himself and world policies. We are in a crisis caused by ZANU PF and here you are, forgetting what you really want. FYI, sanctions must stay. They straighten Mugabe because he is a spendthrift and a dictator. He must stay in China and Singapore. At least the Chinese give him rice and not cash. That's what he deserves.

Tsvangirai, if you have nothing else to say please shut up. We don't know how much you were promised but don't annoy the anxious public. If you don't know the implications of the economic sanctions under ZIDERA please check with your legal team. The lack of information on your part is dangerous for national policy because we could be seen as sending mixed signals yet our people are suffering in Zimbabwe. We deserve respect and fair consideration as we try to find means for democracy in Zimbabwe.
