MDC Renewal Team Threatens to Expel Mhlanga?

28 Apr 2015 at 13:21hrs | Views

What an abuse of democracy in a political party which claims to stand for democratic principles? What cardinal sin has been committed by former legislator, Albert Mhlanga? Mhlanga's position is quite clear and is propelled by the spirit of democracy.

This is a clear testimony that MDC is the haven for dictatorship as no-one can exercise their fundamental human rights freely. How can Samuel Sipepa Nkomo lambast Mhlanga as if he has committed a treasonous offence?

Mhlanga is motivated by the constituents that are demanding that he represents them. Just that, notwithstanding the selfish decision to boycott polls, as mooted by the party, Mhlanga's rights should be respected. This demonstrates that the executive decision taken by the party is at variance with the peoples' wish and will.

Mhlanga is putting issues into proper perspective that as politics is all about power and you can only gain that through participation in an election. So how do you expect to gain it when you are not contesting? Can someone in MDC give a competent counter-argument to this position by Mhlanga?

This is how the MDC Renewal Team is failing dismally from the outset to keep democracy on the rail after its abrupt departure from the dictatorial tendencies they forsook in Morgan Tsvangirai. That party should not permit such level of arrogance to continue flourishing in democracy.

It is prudent that Albert Mhlanga should continue to serve his constituents like he has always done in the past since 2000. He should be praised for defying all the odds to defeat the illogical and selfish decision taken by his party.

Let us be reminded that holding periodic elections is the cornerstone of democracy. Therefore, in view of this golden principle how can society swallow the moves of personalities that push democracy to the verges of a cliff.
