War Vet tall tale of West sponsored regime change plot is an excuse for using violence to resist reforms!

14 May 2015 at 06:57hrs | Views
The claim by Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans' Association (ZNLWVA) secretary-general Victor Matemadanda of yet another regime change plot sponsored by the West is nothing new. See Bulawayo 24 News "Mugabe facing a fresh revolt in Zanu-PF – Video". The regime has always come up with such stories as a prelude to increased political repression to thwart any threat to its hold on power.

It is no secret that this Zanu PF regime is feeling the increasing pressure to accept meaningful political and economic reforms of face total economic collapse. So instead of accepting change the regime cooking up of external threat to justify it use of violence to silence those who are feeling the economic hardship demanding change.

When we, all blacks in our own ways, fought in the war of independence it was for freedom, justice and human dignity for all Zimbabweans and not just those in Zanu PF much less for President Mugabe and the few in his inner circle. All those who valued freedom and justice are rightly ashamed to see what has happened in Zimbabwe these last 35 years. And President Mugabe is at the very heart of everything that has gone wrong in Zimbabwe and it is a great shame that anyone should be defending his record of corrupt and tyranny and disregarding all the evidences proving his guilty.

It was not the British or Americans who have destroyed Zimbabwe's economy forcing millions of our people to live in abject poverty and millions more to leave the country of their birth; it is President Mugabe and Zanu PF who have done this.

It is not the British or Americans who have been fighting for regime change but our own people. How long are we going to pretend not to see how President Mugabe has denied the people their basic right to one-man-one-vote; the rallying cry before independence but quickly discarded thereafter by the buffoon pontificating to the nation's freedom fighters and liberators? These are not liberators but mercenaries who sold their believes in freedom and justice to the gang of thugs who have ruled the nation these last 35 years with an iron fist in return for the share of the absolute power and looted national wealth.

If President Mugabe is as innocent and popular with the people as some of these war vet mercenaries like Comrade Matemadanda would have us believe then why has he failed to hold free and fair elections all these last 35 years? President Mugabe must allow all the democratic reforms agreed in the GPA to be implemented a.s.a.p. followed by free, fair and credible elections.

There in-fighting tearing Zanu PF to pieces is a direct result of 35 years of autocratic rule by President Mugabe. There is nothing these war vets buffoons can do to stop the fighting and Zanu PF falling apart. What this nation must now avoid at all cost is President Mugabe dragging the whole nation into the abyss just as he has dragged Zanu PF into the abyss.

After being denied this basic right for 35 years; the people of Zimbabwe must finally decide, in a free and fair democratic election, who will govern Zimbabwe. It is the people alone who must decide and not you, Comrade Secretary - General of ZALWVA, President Mugabe or Zanu PF. You tall tale of another British sponsored plot to remove President Mugabe is but a ploy to justify the use of force to resist the growing pressure for President Mugabe and Zanu PF to accept political reforms!

The people of Zimbabwe have been denied their basic freedoms and human rights for 35 years but their waiting is over now. Neither you, Comrade Matemadanda, and your misguided war vets nor President Mugabe can stop the Tsunami tidal wave sweeping Zimbabwe.
