VPs not at war

The local private hostile media is at it again in the name of Dailynews. The tabloid claims that there is a "mindless battle" brewing between the country's two Vice Presidents, Cdes Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, over who is most senior and powerful.
The paper revealed that the alleged war between the Vice Presidents 'manifested the ruling Party's undecided succession issue'. One shadowy source allegedly stated that it was not by accident that VP Mphoko corrected Cde Josiah Hungwe when he introduced him as the second Vice President at the Great Zimbabwe University recently.
The paper claims that VP Mphoko has also recently moved to distance himself from alleged factionalism in the Party after he reportedly told supporters in Hurungwe that he had no office but worked under the auspices of President Mugabe. This was allegedly interpreted as a jab against VP Mnangagwa who has been allegedly linked to factionalism.
Another alleged source is said to have revealed that VP Mphoko recently approached President Mugabe to complain that VP Mnangagwa was always undermining him and treating him like a junior Vice President. The paper also claims that a Party leader in Harare province revealed that many officials were gravitating towards VP Mphoko as they allegedly regarded him as sober and impartial.
The allegations against factionalism and internal wars in ZANU PF are being made by people who are far removed from reality and not privy to what is happening in the party. These people are living in the world of fantasy; that is the world of make belief. In fact the public is assured that the party will emerge much stronger following the current and ongoing restructuring.
The machinations by the private hostile media against the two Vice Presidents are unfounded as they are being peddled by people with sinister motives against peace and tranquility in Zimbabwe. As patriotic and progressive people, we should be seen promoting unity rather than being proponents and advocators of factionalism.
The two Vice Presidents are hard working and they should be applauded for working together in a harmonious way. With unity, Zimbabwe will achieve the objectives of its economic blue print, Zim Asset. Woe to the private hostile media for they want to sow the seeds of alarm and despondency.
