Mudenge's statement on company grabs irresponsible, reckless

The statements by Zanu-PF's Stan Mudenge instructing the youths to grab companies and banks in Masvingo are very irresponsible and reckless.
Over the last 10 years, Zimbabwe has been inflicted by high levels of unemployment. The main cause of this unemployment has been the disinvestment of companies due to the ruinous policies of Zanu-PF. It is clear that such irresponsible statements by people like Mudenge will exacerbate the capital flight from Zimbabwe.
Since it joined the inclusive government, the MDC-T through its leaders and ministers in government have worked hard to resuscitate the Zimbabwean economy and instil international investor confidence in Zimbabwe.
The MDC-T's efforts have been manifest to ordinary Zimbabweans. Therefore, the populist behaviour of Saviour Kasukuwere and the reckless statements by Mudenge are a sadistic and deliberate attempt to undermine these efforts.
What is shocking is that Mudenge accuses youths who do not grab companies of cowardice. Maybe Mudenge and those of his ilk must be told that it is foolish bravery to engage in irresponsible political projects that hurt your own economy and the future of your people.
The position taken by Zanu-PF on this issue is clear to the people of Zimbabwe that Zanu-PF does not care about the future of the country. It is clearly on an anti-people crusade and must be stopped.
What is clear is that Zanu-PF wants to use industry grabbing to enrich its leadership. Just like what happened during the so-called land reform programme, it is the Zanu-PF chefs who will grab these industries. Kasukuwere's programme is simply based on political patronage.
The MDC-T strongly oppose this political project and will resist it in Cabinet, in Parliament and on the political arena.
The MDC-T stands for a broad-based economic empowerment that will benefit every Zimbabwean and therefore condemns Zanu-PF's programme based on patronage, exclusion, racism and self aggrandisement.
The MDC-T stands for sound economic policies that attract foreign investment into the country. The MDC-T will not idly stand by and watch Zanu-PF embarking on policies that ward off direct foreign investment.
As the Higher Education minister, Mudenge must focus more on the welfare of the students in this country. Most students are living in abject poverty and are failing to pay their fees or even feed themselves. Instead of inciting them into lawlessness, Mudenge must concentrate on assisting these young Zimbabweans.
Zimbabweans youths want real change. They need jobs, food, health care and education. They require hope, security, dignity, freedom and prosperity. They certainly do not need populist and incompetent ministers.
