'Shame to our people who still believe Tsvangirai offers best solution'

"It's a shame to our people who still think that Tsvangirai has the best solution for Zimbabweans, this man is thick headed and is a nuisance to the nation," commented Sakhile Nkomo from Nkayi.

"It's a shame to his supporters who are failing to read the stupidity of Tsvangirai and thick head of Thokozani Khuphe. These two are not leaders but culprits they are not different from the Tendai Bitis, they operate the same boat, thus people should be careful not to run behind them."

I could not agree with you more Sakhile; we are not doing ourselves any favours by continuing to blindly follow failed leaders.

We are in this hell because Zimbabweans have not only made mistakes but worse still they have develop a knack for finding excuses for their mistakes or to simply switch-off so that they will neither see nor hear what they do not what to see and hear.

History is ruthlessly cruel but fair; those who will not learn from their past mistakes are forced to repeat the same mistakes again and again until they learn doing the wrong things carries with it a penalty and so those who repeat the same mistake again and again get punished again and again too!

There is no dispute that MDC was elected in the 2008 elections on a ticket to bring democratic change. The party's name bears testimony to what its set agenda - "democratic change". The party's main slogan was "Chinja! Chinja! Change! Change!" testifying what the party was about.

The GNU offered a golden opportunity to bring about meaningful democratic change. The GPA signed by the two factions of MDC and by President Mugabe on behalf of Zanu PF (he would have never signed if this had not been his only way to gain legitimacy following the violent presidential run-off which everyone else other than Zanu PF had rejected as legitimate) and guaranteed by SADC called for the implementation of democratic reforms to ensure future elections were free, fair and credible.

MDC failed to implement even one of the reforms throughout the five year life of the GNU. This is even after SADC leaders had reminded them about the reforms repeatedly as one of the MDC Ministers during the GNU, Samuel Sipape Nkomo has since admitted.

Even those Zimbabweans who had not been paying attention throughout the GNU years (itself an unforgivable dereliction of their civic duty to hold those in public to account which is only possible if the electorate is diligent) have had two years since for the reality of the July 2013 elections were not free, fair and credible and for them to ask why that was so.

The answer to why Zanu PF was able to rig the 2013 elections is self-evident - none of the democratic reforms agreed in the GPA were implemented because MDC leaders "were busy enjoying themselves and forgot why they were in the GNU," as SADC leaders said soon after the rigged elections.

MDC leaders betrayed the people by failing to deliver the democratic changes when they had the chance to bring about those changes. MDC leaders sold-out, period.

SADC leaders and the rest of the international community saw Tsvangirai and his MDC friends for what they are, corrupt and incompetent. The fact there are still a number of Zimbabweans out there who still refuse to accept that MDC was elected on a ticket of democratic change, had the chance to deliver the change during the GNU and MDC failed to deliver any change because they are corrupt and incompetent does not change these fundamental facts.

Indeed these Zimbabweans who refuse to see MDC leaders for the corrupt and incompetent leaders that they are; are per se sending a clear message to SADC and the rest of the world that Zimbabweans are not yet ready for democratic change! If we were serious about change we would not be picking the same leaders who have already proven beyond doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent!
If we want to end this Zanu PF dictatorship then we, the people, must at least have an idea what the democratic changes we need are all about. How else will know who is competent to implement those reforms from those who promise to do so but never will because they themselves have no clue what the reforms are about?

It is a great shame that we have all become the victims of this failed Zanu PF dictatorship and yet we have always had the key to end it if only we would apply ourselves to the task in hand and open our eyes and ears to the reality before us and accept our past mistakes with becoming grace rather than foolishly sweep them under the carpet!
