Ncube admits Zim leaders lack 'principles and vision' sadly indubitable proof of naive voters

"The tragedy of our current politics in Zimbabwe is that it lacks ideology, principle and vision," confessed Professor Welshman Ncube.
"This is why we are now being told daily by all and sundry that our one and only purpose is to remove Mugabe from power and that, in this regard, we must unite even with those who still profess loyalty to Zanu PF even after being jettisoned from it.
"Very few are interested in discussing or engaging on issues of ideology or policy or values and principles or the plans which must guide us in the post-Mugabe Zimbabwe."
This is the nearest the Professor will ever get to admitting that MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent and we, therefore, have to take the confession and make what we can of it.
It is an exercise in futility to ask why Professor Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, President Mugabe and all his Zanu PF cronies "lack ideology, principle and vision". (Professor Ncube's confession is equally applicable to the opposition as it is to the ruling party, Zanu PF; the nation would not be in this political and economic mess in the first place if President Mugabe, Joice Mujuru, Emmerson Mnangagwa, etc. had been principled and visionary leaders.) Just as it is futile to enquiry why a village idiot is a village idiot!
What is of importance to this nation is why the nation has again and again elected these village idiots with no principles or vision to be leaders?
The people would have never elected President Mugabe, at least the first ten years or so before he had perfected his vote rigging, if they had known he was a corrupt and murderous tyrant. The evidence of his tyrannical tendencies were there soon after independence and grew into a mountain during the Gukurahundi days; the people ignore the evidence for no better reason than that they did not want to accept the truth because it did not fit with their liberation hero image of the man.
When the people finally rejected President Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs they switched their loyalty to Morgan Tsvangirai but with the same mind numbing naivety.
Professor Ncube is right, as a nation Zimbabweans have focussed on nothing else other than that President Mugabe not be removed from office. Sadly even with the nation's minds focussed on this singular agenda the nation has singularly failed to get this done.
The people were convinced they anyone, absolutely anyone, can get Zanu PF removed from office and all they had to do is elect the persons into power; hence the elected Morgan Tsvangirai, Welsh Ncube and the rest of the MDC leaders. MDC has had many chances to end the Zanu PF dictatorship the best chance being during the GNU where all they had to do is implement the democratic reforms already agreed in the GPA. They failed to get even one reform implemented. Not one!
The easy with which President Mugabe was able to bribe and bamboozle the MDC leaders into doing nothing about the reforms showed just how corrupt and incompetent the MDC leaders are. Professor Ncube has finally admitted to MDC lacking "lacks ideology, principle and vision" which is just another way of admitting they are corrupt and incompetent.
Yes Professor Ncube it is a nation tragedy that the nation has had the great misfortune of having one successive lot of national leaders and another who are corrupt and incompetent. But as long as we have an electorate that is so naïve and gullible they cannot separate the corrupt and incompetent from those with at least some common sense this nation will continue to have corrupt and incompetent leaders and pay dearly for it as we are right now.
Zimbabwe's greatest tragedy is not so much the lack of principled and visionary leaders but that we should have an electorate that is so naïve and gullible they would more readily follow a tyrant and or a village idiot than someone with common sense!
President Mugabe is a corrupt and murderous tyrant but he is clearly a lot more cunning than Morgan Tsvangirai and hence the reason why he was able to bribe and bamboozle the entire MDC leadership, not just Tsvangirai, with great easy. If the nation is therefore serious about ending the Zanu PF dictatorship then the people need to look for more competent leaders than the MDC leaders - that is common sense!
