"Sad news guys, former Zimbabwean goalkeeper Tapuwa "Campos" Kapini has died. Doctors yet to confirm the cause of his sudden death," reads a viral message on Whatsapp.
Guess what it's a hoax, Tapuwa Kapini is not dead.
News of Tapuwa Kapini's death spread like wild fire on Sunday triggering distress among soccer fans. However it has been confirmed as a complete hoax. The former Bosso goalminder is alive and well.
Sikhumbuzo Moyo Sithole, a sports journalist at Chronicle, decried the prank on his Facebook page, "For one to worst (sic) his time and spread smelly lies that someone has died is really sad. Kapini is alive and kicking, according to legendary Peter Ndlovu, Campos was substituted before the end of the first half on Saturday eTembisa on suspicion that he had broken his finger. He then obviously went to hospital.. Peter says it pains him big time for people to spread lies about someone's death...."
Kapini who has already gotten a new moniker THE GHOST CAMPOS said, "Thank u to all my family and friends for not believing that am late."
