Tsvangirai is Zim 'best foot forward' - this is chewing bone of the oldest chicken!

Vakuru vakareva pavakati, kusaziva inyama yegakava. MDC harisi gakava asi godo romupambari! (The ignorant are as tough to convince as chew a piece of ligament, with MDC instead of the ligament make the leg bone of the oldest chicken in the village!)
MDC-T Secretary General, Douglas Mwonzora, has been at it again singing praises of the corrupt and incompetent Tsvangirai in a futile effort to convince the nation that Tsvangirai can get us out of the present political and economic mess.
"Some commentators and competitors have sought to place doubt on the suitability and ability of Dr Morgan Tsvangirai to lead the Zimbabwean opposition to victory over Zanu PF, arguing, among other things, that after a number of electoral "defeats", it is time that a new person be found to lead the party. That way, they argue, MDC can finally win against Zanu PF," argued Mwonzora in his article "Why Dr Tsvangirai Is Zimbabwe's Best Foot Forward and Face of the Struggle" in Bulawayo 24.
"This argument is based on false assumptions, firstly that Dr Tsvangirai lost the elections to Mugabe, and secondly that this losses were a result of the natural fallibilities of President Tsvangirai." Ignorance is the disease of the mind and per se is very difficult to cure but is Mwonzora ignorant or is he deliberately being obtuse!
No one worth his/her salt has ever said Tsvangirai "lost the elections to Mugabe"; we all know President Mugabe has never held free, fair and credible election ever since the nation attain her independence. This is why the national struggle for the last twenty years has been about instituting democratic changes to restore the people's freedoms and democratic rights including the right to a meaningful free vote and the right to life itself.
The party MDC, the party Tsvangirai has been leading all these year since it was launched in 1999, was founded on the promise to bring democratic change.
The party had its best chances to deliver the democratic changes the nation has been dying for, literally, being the GNU when all MDC had to do was implement the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA. SADC Heads of State, amongst many other parties, reminded MDC leaders of the need to implement the reforms but no one listened. At the end of the five years of the GNU, MDC had failed to implement even one reform.
President Mugabe entrapped Tsvangirai et al with the gravy train lifestyle; ministerial cars, generous salaries and allowances and for Tsvangirai, the $4 million Highlands mansion; and they kicked reforms into the tall grass. "MDC leaders were busy enjoying themselves in the GNU they forgot why they were there!" complained SADC Heads of State in sheer exasperation at the MDC's callous betrayal of the people and the cause to deliver democratic change.
Of course MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent and they have proven this beyond all reasonable doubt. Tsvangirai et al sold-out and it is nonsense to even suggest that is "a result of the natural fallibilities".
Tsvangirai et al have lost political credibility with SADC and the rest of the world which is why Mwonzora accomplished nothing following his recent visit to UK, Norway and Australia. The Zimbabwe electorate has been slow in absorbing the facts of MDC's betrayal during the GNU but they are doing so.
In a healthy and functional democracy leaders resign if they are shown to be incompetent or corrupt and Tsvangirai et al have proven to be both incompetent and corrupt and yet they still refuse to resign from public office and they are even actively seeking higher office.
"It has never been the best of ideas in history to change a leader in the middle of a revolution especially where that leader has not sold out the revolution," Mwonzora argued. Well if kicking the reforms into the tall grass in exchange for the $4 million mansion and the licence to gallivant round the world is not selling-out then what is!
It was foolish of the Zimbabwean electorate to have failed to see Tsvangirai et al for the corrupt and incompetent leaders they are long before the GNU but it would be folly to fail to do so now with the mountain of evidence of how MDC leaders sold-out before them.
MDC leaders do not have a clue what needs to be done deliver democratic change, they never did; there are in politics for whatever they can get from selling-out the struggle. Greed has blinded them to their own serious shortcomings; trying to convince them that they have failed has been a total waste of time. There is little nutritional value to be obtained from chewing a piece of ligament and those who try to chew the bone of the oldest chicken risk losing their teeth!
