Dumiso Dabengwa pursuing a useless agenda
08 Sep 2015 at 15:40hrs | Views
Dumiso Dabengwa, the leader of ZAPU 2000 is now feeling the heat of being in the dustbin of political oblivion. The man is calling for the coalition of all opposition parties in an endeavor to remove President Mugabe from power.
Meanwhile Lovemore Madhuku is accusing Zimbabwe's opposition political parties of lack of commitment in working together, unfaithfulness and untrustworthy behavior. However the truth of the story is that these disciples of regime change, through coalition of political parties, are not prepared to give up their positions. All opposition leaders would want to lead the united opposition, which is in itself impossible.
When negotiations start you hear stories of good progress until negotiations reach a stage where a leader needs to be chosen then you hear accusations and counter accusations and the negotiations stall and eventually die. Party leaders are not prepared to be led by others. Dabengwa is no exception to this race of supremacy and dominance. The man is thinking of his hey days in office enjoying the fruits of the government that is why he is lamenting the government of national unity, himself being included.
Dabengwa should be reminded that he has no constituency in the whole of the country even a ward in Bulawayo so his presence or absence does not change anything. The man has reduced himself to a mere spectator in politics for he has plotted for his own downfall. The fact that he formed his own party and the party has proved to be a nonentity shows that the party leader lacks forecast and national vision. This small party is like dew which disappears as the day progresses.
We used to have high respect for Dabengwa while he was in government but by the time he formed his party and tried to contest for the Presidency many people lost faith in him. Many serious politicians and political analysts have dismissed him as a non starter in leading this country and some are referring to him as a buffoon of dubious revolutionary credentials. Woe to you Dabengwa for you shall not lead this nation to the promised land of milk and honey.
What we need in this country are serious politicians who will rescue this country from its economic woes and help remove the much hated and notorious sanctions which are bedeviling the country not the gospel being preached by the spent politicians that President Mugabe must go. On a more serious note people are fed up with this catch word that Mugabe must go thing please help to improve the economy first before you remove the President.
Dabengwa and his followers, whom I doubt very much to be normal, please help us to move out from this economic quagmire first and offer us sound and appealing solutions. We do not want coalitions of political parties due to your megalomania.
