Tendai Biti firing in the dark

Tendai Bitis recent insinuations that Zimbabwe is heading for chaos based on the assumption of perceived fictions in Zanu-PF as the force behind the economic turbulence do not hold at any level to do with political science.

While it is only normal and natural for the opposition to bark the Biti style of exuding loads of misdirected hogwash, it is important to remind them we have more of economic than political problems in Zimbabwe.

The only political problem we have as a people of Zimbabwe honestly is the devious oppositional politicking. Instead of proffering alternative solutions they are in the business of creating chaos and becoming self-appointed prophets of doom

Before delving further in the matter, it is also imperative to note the inconsistencies being exhibited by the MDC-T break away boy. Biti's problems are certainly taking a toll on his mental faculties of late; perhaps he should have himself checked for amnesia soon. His tendency of forgetting is beyond natural.

He broke away from the mainstream MDC-T and went to town demonising everything to do with Ifevangirai's political immaturity and constipating brains as he would have it Today, he is playing a clever prodigal son disguised in unparallel zest to form a formidable coalition against Zanu-PF.

He wants a coalition with the same daft leader who has literary not changed anyhow. Apparently, the boy Biti has no following for him to contribute meaningfully in the perceived grand coalition. It again brings us to the question, in whose capacity is he speaking?

Call Tsvangirai names but his stunt on Biti deserves audience, the boy is clueless and firing in the dark.

As expected Tsvangirai has had enough of this boy and can no longer accommodate him not even as a card carrying member of MDC-T hence, he is now asking Biti to form a coalition with Zanu-PF instead. Ladies and gentlemen I am talking about lack of foresight in our opposition politics which then makes them blind agents for the role of maintaining checks and balance on the sitting government

To say the much touted factional fights in Zanu-PF are crippling the economy is such a blunt lie difficult to place in the political matrices of Zimbabwe. It is no secret the economy is being pinched internally and externally. If it is the factional fights causing economic mayhem, where then would Tsvangirai's calls to intensify crisis fall on. Tsvangirai even called for the sanctions although he is not in Zanu-PF ranks anyhow.

It takes a good liar to maintain the first lie and run with it to the end. Unfortunately no human is capable of such; hence the pathetic yields that characterise opposition performance in the polls.

From the terraces the electorate is following the proceedings noticing who is contributing chaos and those that have openly declared to intensify it.

All these efforts are meant to bring back another chance for the opposition players to munch the tax payers' money through another GNU. If there really existed a need for a reform or opposition we should by now have seen something tangible J as an example of how government should run its affairs.

However, for the past donkey years with the opposition we haven't had any meaningful contribution from this camp. When there is real need, combining of forces isn't foreign as Zanu-PF and PF-Zapu demonstrated during the liberation struggle.

The opposition can take a cue from such historical events and work towards reviving our economy together with the Zanu-PF government. It is only that way that they can exhibit eagerness to serve the nation and bring it together like done by Zanu-PF and PF-Zapu through the famous Unity Accord of 1987.

Without necessarily joining the bandwagon of prophets of doom, the idea of coalition amid conflicting ideas and self-created problems does not yield much.

Desperation in various opposition camps is unwittingly exposing that the project of the opposition ever coming together is ill-fated and doomed from the start.
