Success of the Conference hinges on the united ZANU PF

29 Oct 2015 at 12:50hrs | Views
As the ruling party, ZANU PF heads towards its Annual People's Conference penciled for Victoria Falls in December 2015, its members and supporters should be united and make sure that they are not divided as a way of giving the opposition some weapons to undermine it.

It is not proper for the ruling party to be divided as the political situation in the country calls for the ruling party to be united as a way of making sure that the electorate remains having confidence in it. Division within the ruling party could spell doom for the economy as everyone is looking towards ZANU PF to revive the economic development of the country.

Alleged factional wars which are said to be the order of the day should not be entertained by the party leadership as such wars are not health for the party. The ZANU PF leadership should work tirelessly to stop factional wars and indiscipline within the party. Recent events in the party where ZANU PF witnessed some votes of no confidence applied against some senior ZANU PF members in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces are some of the issues which calls for the party to act swiftly before the Annual People's Conference takes place.

The indiscipline within party members and supporters which has seen some of them being removed from their position of authority through such votes of no confidence needs to be addressed as son as possible. It is not proper for the ruling party to keep on dwelling more on the political front when it is needed to look for ways to revive the economic fortunes of this country. So indiscipline within the revolutionary party should be dealt with once and for all so that the means to revive economy by the party is not interrupted by such mischievous behaviours from thankless people going against the principles and regulations guiding the revolutionary party.

While it is difficult to separate the politics of the country from the economic affairs of it, but for the members of the ruling party to spend most of their time dealing with the political issues forgetting the economic revival of the country is counterproductive. Recent events in the country where the talk of the alleged factional wars reported to have been taking place in the ruling party are not good. People are expecting the ruling party, ZANU PF to come up with economic turn around strategies that would bring back bread and butter on the people's tables.

Actually the ruling party has a lot of government projects which need to be implemented as a way of fulfilling its campaign message which it put forward before the 2013 harmonized elections. The Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (ZIMASSET) has not fully been implemented and the country is patiently waiting for the full implementation of the Zim-Asset. As such the ruling party should work towards the implementation of this important economic blueprint, Zim-Asset and urge its members to stop dwelling more on politics while the economy is suffering.

In fact the ruling party should be united to make sure that some Zim-Asset projects are fully implemented as a way of shaming the ruling party's detractors.  ZANU PF should be aware that the opposition political parties are just watching closely what is happening in the ruling party with keen interest to see all developments taking part within the ruling party. Any mistake which the ruling party might make could be used by the opposition as a weapon to campaign against it in the coming 2018 harmonized elections.

As the revolutionary party is heading towards its December 2015, Annual People's Conference people are expecting it to be united so that there is no witch hunting on who to be ousted and who to remain in the party. The National Political Commissar of ZANU PF, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere recently warned party members against jostling for positions within the party. He made it clear that the party would not entertain schemers who are positioning their members in certain positions in the hope that they would be catapulted up into their aspired positions of authority. Actually Cde Kasukuwere was clear when he said that those thinking of taking over the leadership of the party should hold on as there is no vacancy on that position. He said that ZANU PF would not watch and relax as schemers for certain positions take that as their order of the day.

For that reason people should take heed of what Cde Kasukuwere has said and then desist from creating factional wars that could destabilize the party for the benefits of the opposition political parties. People should be aware that ZANU PF is bigger than individuals hence; they should not let individual interests destroy the party.

The December 2015, ZANU PF 's Annual People Conference should be held in a peaceful environment that would make sure that those who have been thinking that the dismissal of the Joyce Mujuru cabal has created divisions within the party to correct that mentality. In fact some of the indiscipline that is taking place in the party is allegedly being done by the ruminants of the Mujuru cabal fighting for the downfall of the revolutionary party hence ZANU PF should guard against such members.

So the revolutionary party must be united as a way of making sure that it is not shaken by trivial things which can be corrected. After the ZANU PF's Annual People's Conference the revolutionary party need to make sure that there are no squabbles that could be used by its opponents as weapons to decampaign it. The party should come out of the Annual People's Conference being rejuvenated and geared to fully implement Zim-Asset for the benefit of the country.

As the time is ticking towards the much awaited ZANU PF's Annual People Conference, the people are waiting with eagerness to see what the conference has in store for them. So the revolutionary party should be geared to keep on preaching for peace and remain focused on the revival of the economy.
