Zanu PF congress will be 'far from peaceful' nor does Mugabe deserve one - he made it a party of thugs!

President Mugabe has disregarded and violated Zanu PF and the nation's laws and constitution repeatedly, has ridden roughshod over the people's hopes and dreams, in his quest to stay in power at all cost. Even after decades of absolute power and a life of unparalleled luxury and comfort he still craved for more power. Indeed the more power he got the greater his craving and the greater the brutal he became is his quest to secure power.
For the first 33 years since he got into power in 1980 Mugabe has, by and large, got away with his corrupt and tyrannical agenda to grab power at all cost but these last two years has been radically different, his evil past has caught up with him and now it is overwhelming him.
"The marquees have been set up, the roads resurfaced and the WiFi is ready - but proceedings at President Robert Mugabe's ruling party conference this week could be far from peaceful," reported News24.
"Officially, the Zanu-PF conference at a top Victoria Falls resort will simply confirm Mugabe, 91, as party leader and sole candidate for elections in 2018."
News24 reporter is spot on, the Zanu PF congress is indeed "far from peaceful". Even if President Mugabe is confirmed as the party's candidate for the 2018 elections, everyone knows that the real issue, the elephant in the room, is why he was still leader of the party. He has conned the party members far too often in the past and they have allowed him to get away with it but not this time.
Last year Mugabe did not want Joice Mujuru to be elected by party members VP because he had always considered it his prerogative to appoint (and then fire) all those in powerful positions in the party, government and in society that way all the appointees are beholden to him and at his mercy. If the election had happened it would have been the first time party members had had a meaningful say in who held a position of power beyond the Central Committee; this is something Mugabe simply did not want to see happen.
The assassination plot against him was all a lie and after a year with no evidence produced many people can see this was just another one of Mugabe's dirty tricks to get what HE wanted – absolute power, of course. The accusation allowed him to dump Joice Mujuru and 150 other big wigs from the party.
The dumping of so many party members of fictitious charges had one big unintended consequence, it send a shock wave, a wake-up call, to everyone in the party and outside forcing them to see Mugabe for the ruthless and manipulative tyrant he is. The people of Zimbabwe's hatred of President Mugabe came to the fore in the 2008 elections but whatever it was back then it has since redoubled in the last two and half years.
If there are no fireworks in Victoria Falls and President Mugabe manages to keep a lid on things and stops Zanu PF imploding; still we can be sure the fireworks and implosion is still on the cards it is just a matter of when not if. Since President Mugabe himself has set the precedence making Zanu PF a party of thugs who do not have any respect for the law or constitution in resolving such important matters as who will lead the party then he should not be surprise that his successor will be whoever is left standing after the party implosion!
Zanu PF is doomed to implode; there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. Indeed the party imploded last year resulting in the expulsion of Mujuru and her followers and now what remained is set to implode and fracture into two or more further fragments.
If people like Minister Chris Mutsvangwa and Minister Shuvai Mahofa are not summarily dumped during the Vic Falls congress then it will be on President Mugabe's to-do list before Christmas or his wife will give him hell! Peace, what peace?
