Tsvangirai is a self centred leader

The embattled MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, never ceases to amaze me. In the past years, Morgan boasted that he was a champion of workers by fighting for their rights. However, the tables have now turned upside down as Tsvangirai is now fighting from a wrong corner.
His recent acquisition of Mercedes Benz ML worth $100 000, at the expense of his employees at his party headquarters, Harvest House, is a clear indication that Tsvangirai is a self centred leader who only considers his welfare, whilst overlooking his workers' well being. Truth be told, Tsvangirai's behaviour depicts the qualities of a bad leader.
Not so long, MDC-T members were being asked to donate at least one US dollar per month into an Ecocash account for the upkeep of their leader, Tsvangirai. Because of their commitment, innocent MDC-T members were contributing the little they had for Tsvangirai's survival.
Ever since Tsvangirai's western handlers stopped donating funds to MDC-T, Tsvangirai had been struggling to survive. The man was finding it very difficult to pay his monthly bills as well as servicing the vehicle that he was given by Government during the Government of National Unity (GNU) when he was the prime minister. It is a shame that some of Tsvangirai's property were attached to service debts.
Now that Tsvangirai has found other covert means to source funds, he only thinks about himself leaving his party members in the dire straits. Due to this, it is reported that tensions are now thundering within the MDC-T party.
It is a shame that Tsvangirai is being criticised and bashed by some senior official members of that party and general workers for his self centred stance. All he wants is to leave a flamboyant whilst his party members are suffering. Honestly, Tsvangirai should lead by example. Tsvangirai should be clear to his party members on how he sourced finances to purchase the expensive vehicle in order to avoid finger pointing from his party members.
Although the MDC-T spokesperson, Obert Gutu, defended his boss saying it was necessary for Tsvangirai to have a reliable vehicle, it also significant for the party members to have a knowhow on how party funds are used.
Tsvangirai should take a leaf from Kwekwe mayor Matenda Madzoke, who shunned a Mercedes Benz C Class worth $125 000. In 2013, Mayor Madzoke forced the local authority to recover $30 000, which had been deposited to a car dealer for the purchase of a mayoral vehicle. Instead, the mayor insisted that council revenue should be used for more pressing issues like service delivery and road maintenance. The same should be the case with Tsvangirai. He should consider the welfare of his party officials first.
Of late, Tsvangirai has been accusing the Government for flamboyance. At least the Government is doing tangible projects. Most Zim-Asset projects are currently underway. With the mega deals signed between Zimbabwe and China, the country can be able to revive the ailing economy. Contrary to Tsvangirai, the Government is working hard to revitalize the industrial sector and the agricultural sector in order to improve the living conditions of all Zimbabweans.
