Mathebeleland-laziness: top politician on a bootlicking spree

Who among us is a coward? A military commander who absconded from the bush-war and sort civilian life in Maputo at the height of liberation war, or the people of Matabeleland and Midlands who faced genocide perpetrated at the glare of the international community between 1983 and 1987. Nobody came to our rescue until our noble Father Zimbabwe; Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo capitulated just to save lives, sign of a hero of our time.
Let the "uneducated" VP Mphoko be reminded that we have not forgotten what took place in Mathebeleland and Midlands between the year 1981 and 1987: we shall continuously remind them until justice is found and the perpetrators of genocide are taken to book, dead or alive. Women and young girls were raped, gang raped, children were murdered equally, every man in Mathebeleland and Midlands was a dissident and when he was caught, was mercilessly killed: They burnt victims alive, forcing villagers to dig their own graves and bury them alive, trucking and burying victims alive in mine shafts, the use of any object to break the victims skull, parading victims and shooting them before a forced audience, which is then butchered in similar fashion in turn. Torturing victims brutally and slowly until they died, forcing victims to lie down on their backs staring into the sun and denying them water and food, Amputating victims hands and legs with axes and other bayonets to see how the fetus of a Ndebele so-called dissident looked like in its mother's womb and then watching these women bleed to death. Starving of victims of food and water until they died in various notorious detention camps and also under the imposed chilling curfew which closed down shops and restricted virtually all movement, kidnappings and disappearances where people were taken from their homes from the streets, from schools and offices, from buses and trains and, also taken while grazing their livestock in the forests, and from many other places and were never seen alive or dead again, gang raping of women and girls was the order of the day.
Is the above information cowardice, Mr. Mphoko! In light of all that happened in this region we still are told by VP Mphoko how coward we were, and still are. Is this not insults enough to the people who were on the receiving end for so long. He enjoyed diplomatic attachments in foreign lands at the expense of fellow Zipra comrades he sold out cold-blooded during the war. Would his "Excellency" VP Mphoko rather he just kept quiet than to open his mouth to prove the obvious. The peoples from Mathebeleland are not cowards Mr. Mphoko, they are very brave people, you know this deep down in your heart, but you wish to see the peoples of Mathebeleland a broken and less people than you. This is the music you sing to Robert Mugabe for you to get your daily meal, the residency at Sheraton at the expense of the national treasury that is almost without a US dollar but bond notes. You are still callously milking revenues that do not dully belong to you but to the infants and mothers detained in hospital beds trying to cough out payments they cannot afford.
We are constantly told by VP Mnangagwa how Joshua Nkomo betrayed the peoples of Zimbabwe! Most of the people in Zanu elite selectively chose your insults, which ones will crush the morale of the peoples of Mathebeleland. When Mr. Charamba says Gugurahundi is a myth, its hurtful to the people of Mathebeleland, when you say the peoples of Mathebeleland are lazy, it's hurtful; you say it because you know it hurts. When the first Lady Grace says the men from Mathebeleland only know how to make babies and later abscond, go to South Africa, it hurts, when Robert Mugabe says Kalanga people are very uneducated, it hurts. When President Robert Mugabe says the people of Mathebeleland go to South Africa to buy bicycles and blankets, it hurts; they go SA to work and be able to send remittances back home look after families. When they say the people of Mathebeleland are cry babies it hurts. How is peace and reconciliation going to be possibly negotiated if the very victims of genocide are further emotionally get taunted and tortured repeatedly. These constant insults are meant to reduce the people of Mathebeleland to be perpetual subordinates of Zanu PF. We refuse this and we are going to resist this by all means and forever.
It is now crystal clear to us all the peoples of Mathebeleland and Midlands that the unity accord of 1987 was a capitulation of Zapu, to surrender to Zanu to forever and perpetually remains subordinates of Zanu rule. We refuse this schema, we refuse this grand plan of 1979, we shall never be cowed to subordination by Zanu PF. VP Mphoko can insult us further, we know the reason why he is doing it, its food, bread and butter in his family table and forever reside at Rainbow Towers at the expense of the merger tax incomes. That he squanders merger tax collections from very few companies and institutions still operating; he does not have a single strand of guilt. But he has Shopies a chain of them, he continues to loot all the same, like most of them. This begs to question his noble Christian values he holds so proudly: Seventh Day Adventist.
It took some good-hearted MDC-T Mrs. Teresa Makoni, whatever mission she had in Mathebeleland North, to acknowledge the marginalization of all social services in that region. She saw for herself how bad the situation is, how neglected are the people of Mathebeleland North by the government that purports to care for its citizenry. Schools especially, are dilapidated in the sense of the word. We are extremely grateful, on the other hand, for what Mr. Collin Nyabadza's charity is doing in that region, face-lifting schools, paying school fees to disadvantaged pupils, sending thousands of schools books to rural Mathebeleland, organizing sport articles for the pupils in different schools so that children enjoy sport, his charity is God given.

A pleasing development in Zimbabwe that offers hope is that the peoples of Mashonalands do not buy dubious utterances made by Zanu elite against the peoples of Mathebeleland, they know the truth. In Zanu PF elite it's not only Shona people but also "some of them" from Mathebeleland too. The peoples of Mashonalands acknowledge the fact that genocide took place in Mathebeleland North, South, Midlands and Bulawayo. The majority of the peoples of Mashonalands are now together with us in fighting the monster called Zanu PF, which has now started to devour its own children. (Itai Dzamara to mention the latest event among many victims of the peoples of Mashonalands who perished in the hands of Zanu PF)
Whatever truth-and-reconciliation that will take place, it can only happen when there is a new political dispensation and not during Zanu tenure in government. The grand plan of 1979 has nothing to do with the people of Mashonalands, it was a grand plan hatched by Zanu behind the back of the peoples of Mashonalands. The ethnic peoples of Zimbabwe from all corners of the land, identified of late a common problem, and where it is coming from, making it easier to unite as people to deal with Zanu PF head-on. Mr. Collin Nyabadza comes from Manicaland; his services in Mathebeleland North make us all rethink about tribalism in our midst. It takes an exceptional personality to render such groundbreaking assistance in a highly polarized Zimbabwe. We are grateful too, that Mrs. Teresa Makoni acknowledges devolution as the most feasible solution to our painful ethnic divide and addressing underdevelopment.

When President Robert Gabriel Mugabe removes Robert and Gabriel in his birth certificate and George Charamba removes George in his birth certificate, who knows perhaps they begin to think better if it's not too late for the commander-in-chief. It is equally painful to see those who marginally fought the war, are now the big fishes in the government. To see Commander Dumiso Dabengwa at the periphery of the corridors of power is painful. Robert Mugabe had greatness thrust upon him, on one hand, on the other hand, Comrade Wilfred Mhanda, one of the commanders of Zanla, dies a bitter man, he bet the wrong horse, that's supposed to be politics per se, a dirty trade like no other. Such people like Dzino Mhanda, Swazini Ndlovu, Thenjiwe Lesabe, Zephaniah Sihwa and many more unsung dead heroes, will be accorded the hero-status they deserve, one day.
We shall get that justice one day, we shall be able to rebury our own, massacred in cold blood, and be able to mourn them to give that closure we all wish to have as a nation and we say NEVER AGAIN in the history of this nation shall we find ourselves killing each other in that magnitude of hate and loss of human life. Yes multi-culturalism is not a myth, it is possible. This is what we as a nation will work on so that we live side by side, it does not matter how different in terms of traditions and culture.
