Rate payers say No to the circus at Town House

The reality drama that has been unfollowing at the Town House is not amusing to rate payers. Enough of this nonsense that seem to have become the order of the day at the expense of service delivery. Harare rate payers have been suffering in silence enduring the drivel in the way the MDC councillors have been running affairs in Harare.
These councillors seem to have forgotten their mandate and are engaging in endless gaffes prejudicing us the rate payers what is due to us. Just to show how town house has no regard for rate payers, it used to inform residents that there will be a shutdown at Morton Jeffery to allow for repairs and maintenance. This has not been the case for the past two weekends. One would be confronted with a dry water tap from Friday to Monday that is if it ever comes back at all as some have reported of dry taps for a whole week after water was shut down.
Residents of Harare deserve better than this. With the circus appointment of James Mushore as town clerk things have indeed fallen apart at town house. The councillors seem not to know head or tale of issues which beg the question of requisite qualifications for some of these councillors. I have noted that since MDC councillors started occupying the town house affairs of Harare have deteriorated to unprecedented levels. Some suburbs like Mabvuku, Tafara, Msasa, Ruwa etc have not had running water for years and years. Potholes have become a familiar sight on our roads and a repaired road is actually become a novelty to be marveled at. As if the drama is not enough, we just heard that the suspended Mushore has also "suspended" the acting town clerk Josephine Ncube. When will the drama end and we get our monies worth?
Some have alleged that the Ministry of Local Government should not intervene amidst all this hullabaloo. If it was possible the minister should suspend all the councillors and appoint a commission to run the affairs of the city until the next elections. Harare residents, let this be warning in the next elections not to elect incompetent individuals who do not add value to service delivery but are bend on enriching themselves as the MDC councillors have proved all these years.
Harare is no longer the sunshine city as uncollected garbage is strewn everywhere and is a daily eyesore. Illegal vendors have taken over every pavement under the very noses of the city fathers. The mushika-mushika taxis have added to the traffic chaos joining the unruly combis who have been running the show on the roads of Harare and have created their own pick up points in defiance of the city by-laws sadly even killing innocent pedestrians like the 17 year old Jocelyn Gomba, a Girls' High pupil who was killed by a combi driver going against the follow of traffic. We have had enough.
