There has been so much talk about a red hot Zimbabwean striker who plays for one of S.A's biggest clubs Orlando Pirates. They call him Tendai Ndoro. Here are some motivational lessons we can learn from his red-hot form and success.
1. POSITION YOURSELF RIGHT: Ndoro is often found in the right places when opportunity arises; ready to pounce, strike and bury opportunities. He doesn't waste and energy and his time running around everywhere aimlessly on the soccer field like a headless chicken. Position yourself right
2. GO GET THE BALL YOURSELF: Positioning yourself right doesn't mean standing and waiting in the yard box like a statue waiting for others to pass the ball to you, go and fetch the ball from the wings and come with it. How many of us are still waiting for our opportunities fall right on top of heads from heaven? Go get the ball, seek for the opportunity and pray for God to open your eyes to see them.
3. BE PATIENT: I believe with all my heart that Tendai Ndoro believed that he was exceptionally gifted. This makes wonder how he felt when he was not given opportunities to play at Orlando Pirates for such a long time. But the guy waited! At times we don't understand why we are made to wait before we are used and exposed by God. We get frustrated as we see those less gifted than us being preferred and used while we sit on the bench as substitutes. The bigger the assignment, the greater the preparation and the longer the waiting period! While sitting on the bench, take it as an opportunity to observe the mistakes of those who are already on the field, take it as a time to study your competition, when you are finally released to play, you will surpass all the achievements of those who were before you.
4. EXCEL AT BLACK ACES: Tendai Ndoro could not have been elevated to play for Orlando Pirates if he had not played exceptionally well for his former club Mpumalanga Black Aces. Many times we crave excelling on the grand stage while we don't want to excel at the smaller teams in which we are currently playing. If you cannot excel at that smaller team, job, business, task etc….then forget about being elevated to the grand stage. Do not despise the day of small beginnings. Although your beginning was small, your future achievements will be so great. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might
5. BE UNIQUE: The guy Ndoro is unique, even his hair style is just different. Dare to be different. One man once said, ''They laughed at me because I am different, I laughed at them because they are all the same!''. I often say if you are doing what everyone is doing, exactly the way they are doing it, they what is the necessity of your existence?
6. HAVE A ROLE MODEL: Tendai Ndoro says he is inspired by the determination and achievements of Ronaldo? Sit at the feet of those who have excelled better than yourself in your field. Study what makes them successful and be inspired to greater heights by their breathtaking epic performance. If you claim that you are serious about being one of the best there ever was, yet you don't know any of the greatest people in your field, you will be seen as a moving joke….you will be laughed out of town!!
7. TALK LESS DO MORE: In the inspirational book 'Duck-Tility: Strategies Of Being Highly Effective' more is explained about 'Less Quacking More Action'. Ndoro doesn't brag much about what he can go, he shows it. Enough said.
