ZAPU sides with the people of Zimbabwe

The current wave of protests first in Beitbridge and in the Capital City Harare this morning attracted the attention of ZAPU, the party that understands and shares the frustrations of the people of Zimbabwe whose efforts to survive are treated with ruthless brutality, the usual threats of arbitrary arrests and violence on them.
The entire populace now finds itself desperate, hopeless and compelled to rise and refuse this deliberate perpetuation of their suffering by a government that is not only insensitive to whatever their situation is but just continues to enjoy thriving on their socio-economic agonies.
While not condoning violence of any nature on any fellow Zimbabwean, ZAPU fully comprehends the anger of the citizens and hungry youths who are now resorting to whatever action.
The arrogant ZANUPF regime has rejected any reasonable response to the plight of our people. Just like Ian Smith of Rhodesia saw no majority rule in this country in a thousand years, Mugabe and his ZANU PF regime believe that their military might will forever protect their greed and looting, while they trample on citizens rights day in and day out.
The youth have been leaving the country to "greener pastures" hoping that sanity will prevail.
They have been hoping that the Great Zimbabwe will overcome whatever obstacles but alas, those with the political mandate to rule the country have misinterpreted the love for peace and orderliness as blind cowardice, the same mistake the Rhodesia Front of Ian Smith committed back in the colonial days.
They continue treating the people with impunity and offering piece meal solutions in the form of donations such as chickens to their supporters and then glorifying these acts as caring for the people. It still hasn't dawned on these clueless dictators that politics of patronage is always shortlived.
ZAPU observed with even more frustration the government's provocative seizure of traders' goods and their looting and destruction both by politicians in ZANU PF and its money collecting agent ZIMRA at borders and all over the country.
These traders are people who have chosen to find alternative means to survive in an economy in comatose, but as the ZANUPF regime is proving, trying to survive is a crime in this country. Further testimony to this madness is rhe recently introduced Statutory 64/2016 which not only bars imports by hungry citizens but also effectively imposes illegal sanctions through a trade embargo on South Africa our biggest trading partner.
We have had enough of this arrogance and we shall stand up for our rights to a dignified life.
ZAPU, therefore deplores the destructive attitude of the Mugabe regime that is creating violence in the country and subsequently blaming it on peace loving Zimbabweans.
ZAPU blames ZANUPF for the suffering of the people and for being the cause of the resultant unrest that is now obtaining in the beautiful country . They are the first, the second and the third force as everything is really caused by them.
ZAPU calls on all peace loving Zimbabweans to observe the laws of the country, peace and respect for citizens and property rights as the nation gets itself rid of an anti people regime and its reactionary governance systems that it has thrived on for the past three and a half decades.
