ZAPU, the Credible Political Solution for Zimbabwe

ZAPU is the original and authentic political organization that spearheaded the armed struggle for 18 years and remained the leading political force in advancing the Zimbabwean struggle for the right to self determination and national independence.
ZAPU was instrumental in creating the Zimbabwean Patriotic Front under which all genuine anti colonial and democratic forces of Zimbabwe rallied in the struggle for human rights and national independence. In 1987 ZAPU signed a Unity Accord with ZANU PF to stop a genocidal crusade against its members, supporters and leaders. Nevertheless ZANU PF government did not stop with the massacres but continued to violate human rights human, for example the right to work and to an adequate standard of living and the right to freedom of speech, therefore the visible and tangible marginalization experienced hitherto.
In 2009 ZAPU withdrew from the 1987 Unity Accord because ZANU PF government continuously violated human rights of the Zimbabwean people which they (ZAPU) tirelessly fought for.
Violation of human rights is a negation of democracy and the betrayal of the ideals of the liberation struggle. ZAPU as a result of its plausible policies is the only realistic and credible political organization ever to have graced the political landscape of Zimbabwe to afford the people of Zimbabwe what they really long for: a participative democracy that augurs well for economic and social development and transparent empowerment of all Zimbabweans regardless of tribe, language, race or political conviction.
Our priorities as a people driven political organization have always been clear: Promotion, Respect and Protection of human rights, Rule of law, devolution of power to the provinces, nation building, economic and social development. All these are underpinned by Peace and tolerance.
Hence we applaud the GNU principals for presenting a united front against VIOLENCE whose call and commitment to, have been long awaited.
The people of Zimbabwe in the Diaspora are yearning to return to their land of birth and ancestors but are overwhelmingly frustrated by the political machinations that are failing to restore the pride and glory of Zimbabwe as the 'bread basket' of Southern Africa and create a meaningful and conducive environment for economic and social development.
ZAPU is the only Zimbabwean political organization with a realistic and credible solution for Zimbabwe. ZAPU is the party that will restore Zimbabwe for all Zimbabweans, a Zimbabwe that acknowledges a person simply because h/she is a person and not because h/she is a member of this or that political party or because h/she speaks this or that language, a Zimbabwe that is devoid of any forms of cronyism, tribalism, regionalism, favoritism or any forms of isms, marginalization, violence, child and women abuse. With ZAPU that is what is in store for the people of Zimbabwe.
