Let’s pray for Zimbabwe

18 Nov 2011 at 04:20hrs | Views
BROTHERS and sisters, bishops, pastors and the whole Christian community in Jesus Christ, Zimbabwe needs our prayers more than ever before, given the unprecedented violence and the myopic call for support of gay and lesbian rights.

May the name of the Almighty God be praised and glorified forever, for awarding us such a beautiful country with vast natural resources and may those who campaign for the evil such as gay rights be condemned in the name of God.

In addition, God has allowed all Christian groups to peacefully and harmoniously minister his word regardless of our different and distinguished denominations we emanate from.

It is clear and undoubted that within the current world order, Zimbabwe has greatly enjoyed peace and stability, even the absence of natural disasters that have been experienced in some parts of the world.

This can only be attributed to the steadfast, unwavering and continued prayers of the Christian community.

My brothers may this patriotic spirit of prayer continue to yield positive results in Christians today and generations to come.

The Libyan crisis is a clear indication of the absence of God in national issues and government administration.

If one is to make a mutual consideration of the level of integrity, loyalty, honesty and transparency vested in our current President, Robert Mugabe, it is appropriate that his leadership qualities are related to his Christian upbringing at Kutama Mission.

Even his current international stance on denouncing homosexuality is a clear indication that he is a God-fearing leader whose character and personality is modelled on biblical principles.

Honestly speaking, the paramount principles of good governance, loyalty, accountability and honesty as illustrated by President Mugabe over the years are being greatly undermined by corruption and political hypocrisy existing in all lines of current leadership and Government, against the wishes of the President.

As a result, the godly blessings of vast mineral resources in the form of diamonds, gold and uranium, among others have turned to vanity without any national or majority benefit.

Furthermore, Christians should not underestimate the consequences that can result from of the selfish ambitions of some political leaders in opposition.

They openly lack not only national vision but depth of character, belief and grip of issues that keep a nation united and developing, as they seek to promote foreign values at the expense of our own people.

In regard to this notion, Christians should realise that President Mugabe's legacy of good governance and transparency will die in today's political leadership, which has no clue on nationalism.

If the Christian society, continues to ignorance of national issues this country is doomed.

With all these extenuating factors, considerations and circumstances it is of crucial importance that Christians should urgently come together and submit in prayer all the political and economical predicaments of this country.

Violence and demonstrations have become worthless as illustrated in many parts of the world.

In this regard, Christians should understand that true leadership is not by mighty nor power but by the spirit of the lord.

This month we should pray on the following points:

Praying for a God-fearing leader to suceed Robert Mugabe.

This leader must continue and embrace the legacy of good governance, loyalty and transparency as achieved by Robert Mugabe.

    A continued stance anti- homosexuality.

We should not have a leader in Parliament or any structures of Government who supports such an immoral act, which even our ancestors did support.

A corruption-free Government. Given that the majority of our citizens are Christians, these corrupt tendencies will definitely defile Christian values and traditional ethics.

A mutual revisit of the reconciliation charter.

Regardless of past misunderstandings between the white and black community it clear that this was a God-given gift to our President to unite people.

This country to be declared a Christian nation.

This will protect the society from satanic and ungodly practices that have crippled into our Government, business and religious community.

Please be advised that this document is not intended to achieve or uplift ambitions of any political, business or religious function.

NB. The State President will also be advised on the day of prayer, so that he can also join the nation in prayer.
