MDC-T's interference on the judiciary uncalled for

The reaction of the MDC-T political party through its spokesperson Obert Gutu over the conviction of its members by the High Court on the murder in 2011 of Assistant Inspector Petros Mutedza in Glen View 3 in Harare is unfortunate. The MDC-T reportedly rushed to denounce the findings of the High Court when it convicted those who murdered that top cop by issuing a statement saying that an appeal would clear the trio of any wrong doing.
It was surprising for the MDC-T fronted by Obert Gutu who is a lawyer by profession to say that the party was saddened by the conviction of the trio and suddenly pointed out that the MDC-T would appeal to the highest court so that the trio could be cleared of any criminal offense. Gutu tried to downplay the conviction of the trio and only pointed out that the conviction was not proper as the highest court would overturn the conviction. The MDC-T believes that Assistant Inspector Mutedza was not murdered by the trio and may be they know who murdered that top cop.
Below is a verbatim statement by the MDC-T through its spokesperson Obert Gutu a renowned lawyer of repute, as it said it was saddened by the conviction, "The party is convinced that justice will take its course and that these three cadres will be cleared of any criminal offense when the matter is taken up on appeal". Such a statement is devoid of humility to the relatives of the murdered Assistant Inspector Mutedza who are still grieving over the untimely death of him. It would have taken about five years for the case to be concluded but the fact that the culprits have now been confirmed could bring relief to that family.
So for the MDC-T to cry foul over the conviction of the trio who acted in common purpose to murder Assistant Inspector Mutedza shows that the party is for violence. Instead of crying foul over the conviction of the trio the MDC-T could have been now trying various means to calm and comfort the grieved family of the late Mutedza. Actually the MDC-T following the conviction of the trio is bound to take corrective measures to compensate the family of the murdered top cop so that they cleanse their damaged image.
For crying foul on the conviction of the murderous trio, the MDC-T failed to realise that there was the loss of blood through the murder of Insp Mutedza which caused the High Court to convict Tungamirai Madzokere the former MDC-T councillor for Glen View Ward 12, Yvonne Musarurwa the party`s youth deputy secretary and Last Maengahama another MDC-T official of murder. Gutu was quick to say that the highest court would clear the convicts forgetting that Inspector Mutedza did not commit suicide but he was murdered by the trio and some of those who managed to convince the court to acquit them.
It is naïve for the MDC-T to get saddened by the conviction of those murderous trio when the MDC-T was supposed to apologise to the relatives of the murdered Assistant Inspector Mutedza. Zimbabweans should now realise and know that the MDC-T is a party of murderous because instead of the MDC-T welcoming the conviction of the murderous trio they rushed to say that the trio would be cleared of any criminal offense by the highest court on land. The MDC-T assumes that Assistant Inspector Mutedza killed himself because if they were certain that he was murdered there would be no need to cry foul over those who were convicted of murder with actual intent.
The actions of the MDC-T show that they are not concerned with the untimely death of Assistant Inspector Mutedza but only concerned with the trio` lives who could face possible length days in jail or capital punishments. As if Obert Gutu`s statement was not enough, Lwazi Sibanda the MDC-T MP for Tsholotsho ( Proportional representation) sobbed when she heard that the trio were convicted of murder with "actual intent" as read by the High Court Judge, Justice Chinembiri Mbunu with his assessors Messrs Patrick Musengezi and Alexander Mhandu on 6 September 2016.
Lwazi Sibanda like her counterpart Obert Gutu only realised that life is very precious when their murderous trio were convicted of murder by the High Court but when Ass Inspector Mutedza received his untimely death noone from the MDC-T sobbed. Actually they regarded those murderous individuals as heroes and today they are crying foul.
The MDC-T party always thinks that they are above the law because they always carry out violent demonstrations defying the law of the land. This time around they have come out going against what the High Court has found to be true justice carried out against the murderous trio. In 2004 the MDC was jubilant and applauded the courts as fair and independent when the MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai was acquitted of high treason charge which he was facing. The late High Court Judge Paddington Garwe found Morgan Tsvangirai not guilty of treason that was levelled against him by the State as he was reported to have hired Ari Ben Menashe, a then Canadian-based political Consultant to eliminate President Robert Gabriel Mugabe in 2001.
Now the same MDC-T is crying foul over what the High Court did of convicting the murderous trio because the verdict went against what they expected. So people should not take the MDC-T seriously on its dealing with the public because of its cry-babies antics.
