The Big Little Stuff

Some time ago I put this humble little wallet on my table. My learners asked "Sir, is that your wallet?". I said "Yes it's my mine." The whole class roared with laughter.
"No sir, you can't be serious. That's a wallet for little children." Said another learner with tears running down his cheek because of laughter..Well, laughing is contentious, thus I also laughed a bit and continued doing what I was busy with.
When the class had calmed down, i stood up and carried the wallet on my hand and explained the story behind the wallet. "You see my children, I was given this wallet by my former learner, a little girl who dearly loved me. When i left the school, with tears, she came and gave me this wallet, saying i should keep it and remember her with it. Therefore it may look ridiculous but it's one of my most treasured possessions. I carry it most of the time and get the kind of response you gave me, because no one knows it's a great treasure which gives me a great pleasure every time i am holding it, inspiring me that i was someone's best teacher ever." Well, there was great silence in the class.
At times we wait to have fancy things to show appreciation and affection, forgetting that the little things which come from a big heart are the greatest things. Only "gold-diggers" don't think that way. No matter how little what you have is, people will appreciate it and treasure it if it's from your heart. So go and give her that little rose, that flower, that chocolate. Appreciate your pastor, parent, spouse or friend with the big little things. A little thing which comes from a big heart is a very great thing.
