15 Jul 2015 at 14:23hrs | Views

The issue of a missing citizen Itai Dzamara is everyone's concern, so as to re-establish his whereabouts. This is not the time for pointing fingers at each other as the prime focus should be cast on his rediscovery. The most ordinary citizen can assist and complement government efforts in the search for this missing person.

The Zimbabwean community is bamboozled by the untimely disappearance of Itai Dzamara. And it is everyone's hope that one day he will re-appear to cool down our fears which are gripping us all day and night.

Zimbabwe is a democracy in which human rights are observed indiscriminately as defined by the national constitution which is the supreme law of our nation. Every citizen has the natural responsibility to uphold and to be the watchdog of human rights. In respect of this perspective, Zimbabwean citizens are urged to supply relevant leads and/or information which will help in this intensive search for missing Itai.

The Dzamara family should be assured that all Zimbabweans are sharing the torment enduring pain caused by this unfortunate incident which befell our fellow Zimbabwean.

It is inundating to note that foreigners are now calling the shots on the Dzamara issue at the expense of our national dignity. The West is now propelled to accelerate its evil agenda on Zimbabwe using this matter as an excuse. Surely it is merely whipping of emotions, particularly by the French Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Laurent Delahouse, who paraded the mourning souls of Itai Dzamara's family, that is, spouse and children as well as his brothers during French National Day Celebrations.

Honestly, what practical solutions did he proffer by so doing apart from just stepping and pressing the painful wounds of the troubled family and the nation at large?

Zimbabweans should not permit the westerners to capitalize on this issue for their political expediency. We need home grown solution on this problem so that we clear all doubts in the eyes of the global community.

There is no doubt that Dzamara should be found.
