Dear,
The Murowa Community Ward would like to congratulate Hon. Chitando on his appointment as the minister of mines.
Congrats Makorokoto Amhlope...
We salute this wise appointment and know that you are the right man for this portfolio.
We hope and trust that you will eradicate the malpractices and rampant corruption currently within the mining sector so that our God given minerals benefit all Zimbabweans.
We kindly ask you to look the operations of the diamond sector where there is rampant corruption, nepotism, tribalism and chicanery.
Of great concern is that the diamonds are not benefiting the local communities in terms of employment, corporate social investment and infrastructure development.
While the diamond miners earn hefty salaries with mouth watering perks and living super luxurious lives like flying to and from work the local communities are wallowing in stinking poverty.
We don't believe the diamonds are cursed but the management is inept, corrupt and highly insensitive. The locals have endured this looting and plundering of diamonds for far too long and cannot take it anymore so please bring some sanity in this sector.
Thanks Cde E.D for making the right choices. Together we can make Zimbabwe a better country.
