Letter to President E.D. Mnangagwa
03 Apr 2019 at 10:07hrs | Views
Your Excellency President of the Republic of Zimbabwe E.D. Mnangagwa. A cat may look at a King. Writing directly to you seeking redress on issues that could have been dealt with by line heads of departments shows utmost despair and desperation.
The government Pay-For-Your-House scheme came to a screeching halt amid alleged massive looting of the fund leaving many contributors counting their losses with no house and no refund. Follow ups and correspondences to the relevant Ministry has yielded nothing, not even a response.
We now hear of new housing schemes coming up yet the Pay-For-Your-House scheme was never taken to its logical conclusion. I religiously contributed a large amount of money to the fund never doubting the integrity of government but now all appears lost.
Raising the monthly contributions was not easy Your Excellency, it was a result of self denial and tightening of belts. I joined the scheme in 1995 and the projects ran out of steam in 2003, the high rise blocks of flats in DZ, Prospect, Highfields and Mabvuku were part of the scheme.
Your excellency I pray that your respected office help me get my flat or a refund. You are my last resort, even the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission has not come up with anything positive after I had approached them.
I am now of ill health and still without a house.
Best regards.
Your Faithful Servant.
