The opinion article #f1927c7b8f2459e">Zimbabwe shall forever remain as one country, by Tanonoka Joseph Whande has ignited strong opinions on the issues of tribalism in the country.

One Bulawayo24 News reader commented: "I am Shona and I can confess even in court that Zimbabwe as I know it has no respect for a Ndebele man. Zimbabwe as I know it will never vote for a Ndebele President. That only is evidence enough that Zimbabwe and Matebeleland are two countries forced to live together at the expense of the human right abuse of a Ndebele National."

Below is the full comment by Venus M:

Dear Tanonoka Whande,

I am proud that you are a fair man who is able to tell the truth that Zanu PF conducts itself in a divisive and tribal manner which has divided this potentially rich Nation.

However, I invite you to pause, hold your breath and imagine how you would be feeling had you been Ndebele and intelligent.

Imagine extending your hope as a Ndebele that Zimbabwe will one day recognise you and treat you according to the content of your character rather than the criteria of tribalism?

Imagine after 30 years of clear marginalisation to be told to wait until your armed tormentor changes his mind?

Imagine being refused work because one is Ndebele? Imagine being kept as a deputy in all aspects of Industry?

Imagine having your history distorted in schools to promote one tribe over the other?

Would you really wait after 32 years that one day your tormentor would change?

I am Shona like you Whande and I was born and grew up in a Ndebele culture and I have proven many times that the system in Zimbabwe can not be corrected merely by talking.

The Ndebele desperately need to govern themselves if they deserve to be respected in this Civilised World.

Our Shona Government of Robert Mugabe has failed over and over again to play the role of a fair father.

The next prospective Zimbabwean leader Morgan Tsvangirai is not different from Mugabe when it comes to tribalism. In 2005, his party MDC split on tribal lines and Tsvangirai failed to show fatherly unifying shadow to create National Unity which is why there is a GNU today. If Tsvangirai had managed to treat well the Ndebele in 2008, he would be Zimbabwean undisputed President today.

Allow me to get you to thoroughly look at this next question, "DO YOU THINK THERE IS GOING TO BE A VOTE THAT WOULD PRODUCE A NDEBELE PRESIDENT IN ZIMBABWE ONE DAY?"

Please do not continue to read this article if you did not understand my above question written in bold!

If you understood my question written in bold, then let me tell you the honest answer, "IN ZIMBABWE AS WE KNOW ITS TRIBAL TRAITS TODAY, THERE IS NEVER GOING TO BE A NDEBELE PRESIDENT".

Let me take you down to history now, DOWNLOAD THE 1890 MAP OF MATEBELELAND BELOW AND STUDY ITS BOUNDARIES.

This map will show you that Matebeleland as recorded, not by the Ndebele but by Europeans in 1890, had its boundaries from Botswana, South Africa up to Mutare. Mugabe whose father came to Zimbabwe to seek employment in 1917 has influenced this Nation that Zimbabwean land belongs to the Zezuru.

This is repentant and pregnant of a potential to cause civil war. To avoid a civil war that has dragged the continent of Africa backwards, the Ndebele must be allowed a referendum to decide if they want to break away from a Shona dominated Zimbabwe and govern themselves as a separate sovereign state that caters for the needs of its citizens.

I am Shona and I can confess even in court that Zimbabwe as I know it has no respect for a Ndebele man. Zimbabwe as I know it will never vote for a Ndebele President. That only is evidence enough that Zimbabwe and Matebeleland are two countries forced to live together at the expense of the human right abuse of a Ndebele National.

Let's do the right thing for our own growth, avoid war and hate and separate these clearly two countries for the benefit of peace and prosperity. Anyone who lives in Matebelelend and is Shona has to register as a Mtwakazian or relocate back to Zimbabwe and anyone who lives in Zimbabwe and is Ndebele must register as Zimbabwean or relocate to native Mtwakazi.
