Open letter to the First Lady
Dr. Amai G.N. Mugabe
Amai your induction into mainstream politics has been a grand and amazing one that got the whole world watching Amazing Grace. You took the bull of politics by the horns and gathered strength and courage to tell the truth as you saw it.
It is amazing that early this year I advised Hon. Mike Gava and Hon. Mukwangwariwa to talk about the amazing work you had done in their maiden speeches in parliament. I had read the situation accurately and had realised that your participation in mainstream politics was inevitable.
I congratulate you on your nomination to the post of Secretary Women's affairs in the politburo.
This position is just the beginning there is a lot more that you must acheive Amai for the sake of a prosperous Zimbabwe. Yes, I may have disagreed with you on some issues raised during the Meet the people rallies, but that is what makes Zimbabwe a democracy that we may disagree but at the end of the day join hands and build the best Zimbabwe.
Amai you have a powerful voice that the whole nation listens to , may I ask that as a nation we focus on Economic Development. We are now in the middle of an Economic Revolution which we all need to fight diligently and conquer so that we do not spoil the legacy of Baba vaMugabe our President.
Dr. Amai Mugabe the workers at ZISCOSTEEL, their families and all need a powerful voice like yours to speak on their behalf and demand action for the resolution of problems at Zisco. Zisco is one of the key economic giants that have been destroyed by corruption , mismanagement, sanctions and many more. Those pro longing the suffering of employees at Zisco must be told to STOP IT !!!!! The people of Zisco need your voice Amai.
NRZ is another economic giant that demands your very powerful voice Amai. The spouses of NRZ workers are suffering and struggling. These are women who make up part of your new constituency kumadzimai. Please speak on their behalf and lets get NRZ working . We must deliver a better quality of life for the people of Zimbabwe as it is the wish of Gushungo.
Amai the best place to speak on these issues and set the tone is at congress. Our leaders need to understand that its no longer business as usual, deliver or else you go. The people of Zimbabwe want an improved quality of life , running clean water and a constant and consistent electricity supply.
NRZ , Ziscosteel, Zimalloys, Zimglass and many more industries need revival to recreate all the jobs that were lost.
I therefore propose through you Amai that ZANU-PF be restructured. The department of Economic Affairs and that of Production and Labour be valued more than other areas. These 2 departments should be commandeering the fight towards Economic Emancipation . We are in an economic war that needs a structure that resembles preparedness to combat poverty and deliver Economic Freedom. Our Ministers of Industry, Finance and all must be competent soldiers who are action oriented and able to lead the march against poverty.
Our greatest enemy is not each other , it is not Tsvangirai nor is it the West, our greatest enemy is poverty. Zimbabwe must conquer the war against poverty and empower every household with tools that help them fight poverty which are land, job opportunities, water and electricity.
I write this letter to you Amai because only you are capable of speaking in a voice that cannot be ignored.
We look forward to your leadership and may God grant you more strength and wisdom.
Signed
