Grace Mugabe deserves ministerial post

EDITOR,
It is worrisome that some pseudo political analysts and sections of the private media continue to paint a bad picture of the First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe churning out a number of lies and pointless statements to tarnish her growing image and reputation.
One cannot resist the fact that the First Lady is diligent and focused.
She was elevated to Zanu-PF secretary for Women's Affairs after it was realised that she was committed, dedicated and hard working.
Zanu-PF has witnessed magnificent developments in the party following the First Lady's entry into mainstream politics.
There were indeed rotten apples in the party that wanted to spoil good ones.
Dr Mugabe exposed some of the bad elements that were planning to unconstitutionally over¬throw President Mugabe.
Therefore, the First Lady deserves a ministerial post in the Government.
The First Lady is a human being just like anyone else, therefore, the fact that she is willing to take up whatsoever ministry does not matter.
She possesses excellent leadership qualities; hence she deserves any ministerial post.
In addition, some political commentators were recently hitting hard again on Dr Mugabe when they were accusing her of sitting at the front seat which they allege was reserved for the party*s Presidium during the Politburo meeting.
Honestly, I don't see any reasons for condemning the First Lady about that.
On his Facebook page, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Professor Jon¬athan Moyo noted that the sitting arrangements were set up in the absence of the First Lady.
What surprises me is that during the Zanu-PF 6th People National Congress that was held in December last year, the First Lady as usual sat next to the President at the top table. Even during the Central Committee meetings, the First Lady always sits next to the President. It is noble for women like Dr Mugabe to be included in politics and decision making processes. President Mugabe enacted policies like gender equality so as to empower women such that they can have a voice and be heard in all decision-making processes and political positions.
The policy also seeks to provide guidance for the achievement of gender equality in the country in all sectors of the economy.
What excites me most is the fact that the First Lady is not a pretender like what other politicians do. Surely, if Amai Mugabe's innovative skills are practically applied, she will indeed help trans¬form the country's economy to greater heights.
Dr Mugabe's pragmatic approach in trying to restore the status of the economy should be hailed.
