An open letter to hon VP Mphoko

Matebeleland People in Diaspora would like to take this chance to congratulate Hon VP Mphoko over his portfolio of National Healing and Reconciliation. We are happy that this vital ministry which is the only ministry which can ensure the much desired peace, reconciliation, cooperation and unity in Zimbabwe and amongst Zimbabweans has not only been given to the third highest citizen of Zimbabwe but to a survivor, a person who saw it all happening and most importantly a person who has identified who were the perpetrators of the unthinkable event of Gukurahundi. For that reason we hope and believe Hon Mphoko will appear as the saviour of the people of Matebeleland, using his portfolio and help nail the west for killing of their loved ones.
As MPD, we would like to challenge Hon Mphoko on the powers he was quote as giving to the police rookies at their graduation. Hon Mphoko is said to have welcomed the police rookies and told them that they are the custodians of peace and national healing in Zimbabwe who should ensure everyone is protected. It is very much pissing off to learn that instead of him heading the healing process of the people of Zimbabwe as having completed the first step of it, which is the identification of the evil hand in the Gukurahundi killings, he now fears to take the second step of laying the charges, which should then be followed by the exhumation and reburial of the victims, leading to counseling of the survivors which gives spiritual healing of the affected, he hands over that process to the protection unity. It is high time that Hon Mphoko and Zanu pf come to senses and realize that Zimbabwe although with 2/3 of its population being policemen, it should not be a police republic where police should be in control of everything. It was being reckless of Hon Mphoko to say police should ensure healing other than them enforcing the constitution and him ensuring the much desired national healing program.
Or maybe we got him wrong on that. Where does the nation require that healing if it is not on the issue of Gukurahundi and are the actions of the ZRP of block the Gukurahundi commemoration events, the healing he was implying to?
As the people of Matebeleland who have lived most of their lives being haunted by this Gukurahundi ghost wouldn't love to hear a person of his rank in the country and a fellow Matebelelander rubber stamping people who should be protecting our rights, to violate them.
As the people of Matebeleland who are in dire need of National healing, we plead with the Hon VP to withdraw his statement, let the police protect the people as spelt in the constitution while he lead and direct the national healing process as spelt by his portfolio. Finally as having said earlier on, we are waiting to hear from Mphoko as the head of National healing program, where do we go from here as the primary suspects of the killings have be identified.
