Open letter to Tsvangirai

04 Jun 2015 at 08:20hrs | Views

Dear Morgan, I thought I should write to you this short memo, advising you on some of the aspects and characteristics that you, as a leader of a political party is expected to do.

Without any fail, Tsvangirai, you should find better ways and means of putting your house in order. Good leaders lead by example. Leaving a life that is politically filthy should not be expected from a leader like you. How can you be issued with summons by AfriAfrica bank for failing to pay back $51 206?

It is noted that, in 2013, you borrowed $51206 from AfrAsia Bank which you promised to pay back as interest charges of $850 per month. So, what went wrong Mr Tsvangirai? What made you not to settle your debt? Do you really know that your supporters can dump you because of such behavior?

I understand most of your followers are not happy because of your manners. If you are failing to put your house in order, will you be able to lead this nation? Morgan, I think your decision to boycott elections was behind resolving and settling issues like these that need funds. You disappointed your party members when you declared that no one was supposed to contest in any election. You are now hiding behind electoral reforms, while in actual fact you are financially bankrupt. But is this democracy Mr Tsvangirai? If you continue with your ignorant and dictatorial ruling, don't be surprised that one day you will be left alone, probably with your lawyer Douglas Mwonzora, who is always by you side defending you.

Tsvangirai, are you aware of citizens rights? If not, you better ask your lawyer, I am sure he will assist you.  I thought when you named your party ‘Movement for Democratic Change', you were aware of the meaning of the word ‘democracy'. Tsvangirai, do you know that voting is a democratic right for every individual in this nation.  Sorry to say this to you Tsvangirai, but I would advise you to change your party name so that it will suit the situation that the MDC-T is currently in.

As it stands, most of your members are against your ruling on election boycott, hence, they have decided to participate in the June 10 by-election as independent candidates. It is so pathetic Morgan. Most of your party members were so loyal to you, but because of your single minded ruling, you destroyed the hope and trust that your supporters had in you. A good manager respects the views of his colleagues.

They say fore warned is for armed. Is it not better for you, Tsvangirai, to pass the baton stick to the next person before it's too late? Surely, politics have proven to be an opponent of you. Even your cronies in the western community have lost confidence in you, to the extent that they have financially sanctioned you. So, I urge you, Tsvangirai, to take a break and give others a chance. There are a lot of officials within your party that are competent enough to continue from where you are. As it stands, Madam Thokozani Khupe is the favorite of most of your followers. Just give her a chance. Truly, change might find its way into your political party.

Honestly, the illegal economic sanctions that you called for are now worrying you as well Morgan. You thought that when sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe it was going to affect ZANU-PF alone. Unfortunately, you and your party members are also victims.

It's actually a shame on your side Tsvangirai. The same government that you called sanctions for is the one that gave you a house to leave in. Can't you read between the lines? Do you think you can continue surviving on donations from party members?

Honestly, time shall come and you shall regret Tsvangirai. It's better to be on the safe side than risk embarrassment. Continue to lead MDC-T at your own peril.
