Movement for Democratic Confusion

EDITOR,
Already, the MDC-T has done it again showing its highest level of confusion and disorder by reversing its 'no reforms no elections' strategy that it has been advocating for this whole year. Just to remind Morgan Tsvangirai, earlier this year he addressed a rally in Mkoba suburb in Gweru where he said that the MDC-T will not take part in the 2018 general polls if the government fails to make election reforms.
Surprisingly, the party is now saying that MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora accompanied by a delegation will soon be travelling to Europe where they are expected to brief western governments and their party supporters on what they termed "country's state of affairs" ahead of 2018 harmonised elections. Honestly, this is confusion.
The bewilderment is not only on MDC-T leadership but also on their party policies. Tsvangirai is really uncertain on his party policies. The United States of America (US) and allies who used to sponsor the MDC-T heavily once warned this opposition party that boycotting elections was not an option.
However, showing bravado of a fool, Tsvangirai hinted that he will not listen to the thoughts of Western governments because no-one can dictate to them on their party activities. Now that Tsvangirai and his cronies have realised that they have tied up themselves with their own rope, they thought of going back to the drawing board; hence, reversing their poor and indecisive decision on election boycott It is widely known that MDC-T is a western project.
However, donations and financial resources were cut off since the MDC-T had failed to execute the western demands. It is true that Morgan is no longer relevant but only serves as a political spent force. The West no longer wishes to sponsor this useless project Mwonzora and his delegation are visiting Europe to beg for funds for the 2018 election campaigns as well as mending the broken relations that were existing between the two outfits.
Their reason to boycott elections was that they had no resources; therefore, sending a delegate to Europe to seek resources will slightly help them capitalise on their campaigns. This shows that the MDC-T has no vision other than waiting for the West to dictate pace for them. They say he who pays the piper calls the tune. It is unfortunate that this opposition party lacks its own tangible ideologies that can help them to excel against its rivals.
One would wonder then is the 'country's state of affairs' that MDC-T wants to inform the Europeans. In what sense will the Europeans assist Zimbabweans? In other terms approaching Europeans is inviting them to enhance their agenda of regime change.
The economic decline that the country is currently encountering is a result of the illegal economic sanctions that MDC-T called for. That opposition party should be really ashamed of the mess and rot that they caused to the economy.
Recently, Tsvangirai addressed a congregation at Hauna business centre in Mutasa North constituency where he said that children should be taught politics at a tender age. Surely, can children at the age of 15 vote? Tsvangirai is only worried about being in power and not the welfare of school going children. He doesn't value the importance of education. "As we go towards that very critical date, we should all go and register to vote. Let's all go and register, ensuring that no one is left out Every child that has reached 15 years should go and register'', said Tsvangirai.
As it stands, Tsvangirai is either ignorant or unknowledgeable of the law. Can children under the age of 18 be registered as voters? One would really wonder! Mwonzora was quoted by the media saying that their decision for a U-turn on election boycott was because of a new planned strategy which he said he would not reveal at the moment But then one would stretch his mind back and revisit Tsvangirai statements that he would "escalate crisis" in the country as a campaigning strategy.
In tandem with that, it is MDC-T top official, who is also a lawyer by profession, Nelson Chamisa, one of the key people who fomented the recent landmark court ruling by the Supreme Court that caused dismissal of many employees. Honestly, that party does not care about the welfare of the people in the society.
All they want from the electorate is their vote once they come into power, nothing else. On the other hand, the MDC-T strategy that Mwonzora said he could not disclose might be a nonentity policy that will be only visible after they borrowed or copied from other political parties' policies.
Following that; the then secretary general of MDC-T, Tendai Biti once complimented the ruling party's 2013 election campaign strategy saying that the message, "ibhola egedini" resonated well with the electorate whilst his own party had no clear cut strategies.
