Sarah Mahoka's utterances treasonous

The Editor,

I was dismayed by the utterances and threats to Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa by Sarah Mahoka at the ZANU(PF) headquarters on 02 February 2026. In the presence of the President of Zimbabwe and while the whole world was watching, Sarah threatened Mnangagwa with death. To me this was an act of treason and if the rule of law is impartially applied in Zimbabwe, this woman must be picked up for questioning.

We must never forget that Mnangagwa in recent days survived a car crash, his office was sprayed with cyanide, and his justice office was accessed through the ceiling. With all these events still fresh in our minds, it makes no sense that this woman will be roaming the streets freely after uttering such treasonous words. If anyone had said even less threatening words to President Mugabe, that person would be languishing in jail. Threatening a member of the presidium is insubordinate not only to Mnangagwa but to the President as well.

Remember we have another high profile death of Solomon Mujuru who died in the house. Is Sarah telling us she knows how these politicians die in their houses? I ask the rule of law to take its course to protect the person of Mnangagwa.

Sincerely,

Sam
