Man organises a hit on his friend in SA?

20 Sep 2016 at 01:39hrs | Views
Dear Editor

I have a story that is newsworthy.

Briefly, the facts are:

A Zimbabwean was involved in a road traffic accident in 2012 in South Africa.

He called for compensation from the South African Road Accident Fund and his lawyers got R1.2 million rands as his compensation.

He did not have a bank account.

So he asked his Zimbabwean friend from Gwanda but residing in South Africa if he could use his bank account. The friend agreed they went to see the lawyers who issued cheques amounting to R970.000.00 in the names of the friend.

The money was deposited in the friend's bank account on 27 May this year.

On 2 June the two went to withdraw R100.000.00 from the bank.

They went home and each went to his shanty room.

As the guy with the money got to his door two men pounced on him and shot him dead and looted the R100.000.00.

The matter was reported to SAPS and is still under investigation.

There is strong suspicion that the friend set him up so that he would eat the money when he is dead

As if to confirm the suspicion, the friend has moved from his residence to an unknown place.

The writer went with the police yesterday to his former place and only to be told he moved out immediately after the murder.

We tried to call him but did not answer his cellphone.

He later switched off the cellphone and it remains switched off.

Publication of the story may help us trace him. The deceased is survived by his wife and 6 children who are suffering in Zimbabwe.

The police have promised to freeze the bank account but there is fear he has already moved the money.

If you are willing to publish this story we can provide you with full details and names of the friend and the deceased.

Regards
