Liberation war hero threatens ex-Zapu official with knife

Suspected liberation war hero and retired Flight Lieutenant Barnabas Sibanda reportedly threatened former Zapu spokesperson Methuseli Moyo with a knife at Bulawayo's Renkini long distance bus terminus.
Sibanda who is feared to have developed a mental illness hit the headlines in the 1990s after he constructed a helicopter that he named Zimcopter.
"I was today threatened with a knife by an apparently mentally-ill man near Renkini long distance bus terminus in Bulawayo," Moyo posted on his Facebook wall.
"The man looked like liberation war hero and retired Flight Lieutenant Barnabas Sibanda, the man who invented the famous Zimcopter the claimed could fly. I am sure that was him."
Moyo said Sibanda charged towards him and seemed to be amazed that he neither ran away nor got into a fighting mood.
"I couldn't believe my eyes that this was the Flight Lieutenant. Can those responsible for the welfare of war veterans please do something about his situation before he harms people or he is lynched by mobs."
