7:18pm, 11 May - +263 7* *** ****: Hwange colliery employees have gone for eleven months without pay as deputy min of mines blocked the appointment of Mr Makore as chief operations officer after he had been introduced to the executive managers by board chairman Mr Mutamangira and was suppose to start work at the giant mine on the first of may. The news had brought relief to the workers as down sizing the executive managers from 25 to 5 department was going to save a lot in terms of revenue. A lot of bogus contracts which are siphoning revenue were going to be terminated. This did not go down well with certain managers as they could see that looting time is over. When news broke that the appointment was blocked by Fred Moyo workers' hopes were devastated taking into consideration that the 50 million bailout package is being blocked when things and situation are deteriorating and decaying at the mine. We pray if min of finance and other gvt officials to intervene before the coal mining giant which is the national asset closes any time soon judging by situation on the ground which is a sore to the eye
