2:28pm, 30 Jun - +263 77 ▩▩▩ ▩▩▩▩: Hie there please don't print my number. Im a concerned, and angry parent from Tennyson Primary school in Ilanda, Bulawayo. Our kids are being harassed for not paying $1 for civies day which was last week on friday yet we were given letters telling us civies had been banned. On top of that grade one pupils dismiss anytime between 1pm and 2pm, this becomes difficult for parents who only have this time for lunch as they dont know what time they will get their kids. We once approached the headmistress about this issue and we were told to find other people who can collect the kids for us otherwise there was nothing she could do for us. As im writing now grade 3 to 7 pupils are said to be doing sports but those doing sports on other days are just seated in class doing nothing waiting to come out at 4 pm the teachers will just be babysitting.
These children start school at 730pm and finish at 4 pm, while secondary students finish at one. This does not make sense. The children most of the time do not go for break and lunch and you find them eating as soon as they get into the cars or at home. Grade one pupils are hit with huge sticks in the head or any part of the body by a [name supplied] who happens to be the head of infantry department, she is very rude as she always shouts at every parent who wishes to air out their views. When you approach the head with such issues, you are quickly asked what do you want or we will get back to you and that's the end. Please help us because we are tired of such treatment from people who are supposed to be teaching our children but instead are causing headaches. Imagine a grade 3 getting home at 5pm please help us air out our views because if we do it in front of their faces our children will be targeted by not being given homeworks or given the attention needed
