12:45am, 3 Jul - +1 778-***-****: I saw a story about a woman called Christina Ndlovu...Assykum Seejer in The Uk..
It jogs my Memory, as an ex member of the Police Support Unit based at Fairbridge...with Delta Troop.. I remember during those days being based at Binga Rest Camp (yr 2000 month??).
We we called to a serious scene at Siachilaba where Zanupf who had been bussed in where on a rampage..Looting..Beating up locals and burning shops, homes and holding Kangaroo courts where they burned people with flaming plastic..
The Siachilaba Police we helpless..
I was in command of the 10 or so man at base because Our Seargent had been called to Fairbridge..
We proceeded to the scene of disturbance and these Zanu thugs were happy to see us drive up....Drunk on looted beer they cheered us as Patty Police..
As commander I was having none of it..I told them they were under arrest...which was a shock to them.. They began threatening me and my men with dismissal from Zanupf.
To cut the story short.. they refused to be arrested or surrender stolen goods and I gave the order to tear gas the Zanu paid mob and we gave them a real beating with rubber batons.
We took around 40 of them to Siachilaba holding cages.. and since it was late I told the member in Change we would be back in the morning to proceed with the dockets..
In the morning back to Siachilaba I found the cells and cages empty..The member in Charge told me ..""sorry Moyo..theres nothing I could do..""
He had been ordered to release these thugs and criminals from Harare.
I was angry and impotent at this travesty of Justice which I had come across many times in my 15 years in the Police Support Unit.
After this deployed at Binga.. I was charged with assaulting Zanupf youth members whilst in Uniform..
I was recalled from Patrol at Beitbridge to attend Kangaroo court at Binga magistrate court.
While I stopped at Fairbridge camp to pick up civilian clothes for this court appearance I heard I had been pardoned by Robert Mugabe amnesty for all perpetrators of violence during elections
A pardon I refused.... But then I was a narked person in the police when I also refused to vote in the Camp for Zanu....
Good for yu Christine..
