16:47, 18 Dec - +263 7* *** ****: There's a school known as Borrowdale brooke academy. The school runs from grades 1 up to form 6.The managing director, [name suppled] does not pay working staff. If a person asks for his or her pay that individual is threatened with dismissal. Labour cases are abound. Most of the structures used as primary classrooms are sub-standard and one wonders if the Ministry of education inspectors in Northen Central are carrying out their duties of inspection or they are being bribed to turn a blind eye on this daylight robbery of parents.
Teacher turnover is very high. As a result no effective teaching is taking place there. The school claims to have boarding facilities but these are sub standard. Surprisingly enough there is a plaque which states that it was officialy opened by the Minister of Health Dr Parirenyatwa. One really wonders how a Minister of health can open a school, instead of a hospital and this raises eyebrows. Fees range from US$900 to US$2000 The Ministry of Education needs to be proactive and close such dubious schools which are established to milk Zimbabweans.
