14:46, 8 Feb - +27 7* *** ****: How are you? Please allow me to vent my anger on the delays experienced at the Zim side border when coming from South Africa. It seems the management has changed the system of searching the buses and now want only two buses to be searched under the shed. We don't see any logic in it as it has caused so much unnecessary delay to leave the border which eventually translate into low revenue accumulated by ZIMRA. It was logical to even increase the number of buses being searched at a time thereby limiting time on the border and on the other hand increases cash inflow for our cash-thirsty government. This idea of limiting number of buses searched has no logic as it is counter productive and reduces cash inflow. Whoever boss who came out with such a strategy should be investigated as such a move is anti-government need for cashflow. I can smell a gamatox here, this management want the current government to be cash suffocated and fail to execute its duties and then see something to blame it. Presidium please smell the coffee, you are being decampaigned
Our government need fast and efficient means of raising cash to finance its expenses, only an insane management can only come up with such a counter productive option. If they are fighting corruption on the part of their officials, I think they should be more innovative. On Wednesday we arrived at the border at 10am and left the border at around 4am still unsearched. So why was our time wasted there, we actually slept there. We were told that we will be searched at Manda near Masvingo which was done but still when we were in Masvingo we were told that we were going to be searched again and we were diverted to Masvingo Railways where the officials there took their time to come. Its now a crime to travel from South Africa.
People are willing to pay duty but let everything be efficient and cause less delay, so that cross borders have time to do business and make the mire profit they always make.
I call upon the top management of ZIMRA to revisit this issue going on at Beitbridge.
