20:10, 7 Feb - ‪+27 7* *** ****‬: The appointment of President Robert Mugabe into the chairmanship of tha A.U may be a milestone into the political career of Mugabe and Zimbabwe on the african political arena. But l believe its a betrayal to the Zimbabwean mass at large, for the same person whom they have made to preside over the A.U, has dismally and failed to run his own country.

Which criterion do they use to ascertain the credibility of a candidate to lead the A.U.  For in the case of president Mugabe who has led his country from a thriving bread basket of Africa to jus an empty case, with unemployment levels hovering above 80%, and industry and manufacturing sectors have crumpled down. I believe the move to award president Mugabe with that position has betrayed the Zimbabweans. For the majority of Zimbabweans are calling for his ouster due to his failed ability in the running the Zimbabwean nation, yet the A.U is saying otherwise.

What the A.U members are trying to say is that president Mugabe is still sane and still in the capacity to lead and preside over Africas affairs. I tend to disagree given his old age and the recent slipups in his utterances when addressing Zanu PF supporters proves to the contrary.

We are saying president Mugabe is too old to lead any forum be it a nation, organisation and any union, hence his appointment to the chairmanship of A.U has reduced the hopes of some Zimbabweans to seek the intercession of other african countries on the removal of president Mugabe in leading Zimbabwe.
