Mazowe Gold Mine owned by Metallon Resources is reported to have employed local people to dig graves at Madhongi area near Mahachi's farm in Mazowe.
The grave diggers started digging on Sunday 20 February, according to sources.
The mine want to relocate the graves as it intends reclaiming the old slime dam and re-extract the dump to process for gold.
There are reports that the mine is using unskilled people and paying peanuts.
Some community members allege that people were forced to relocate and this has done in a sort of secret.
Efforts to get a comment from mine management were fruitless as telephones were not being answered.
