11:32am, Jul 11 - +263 7* *** ****: Government departments and organisations should be there to render satisfactory service delivery to the general populace. This has come in the wake of an incident that took place in our area in Headlands pertaining an electric cable that went loose from connection.
It lied down along a standing electricity pole. At its end it was in touch with fence that surrounds the yards. This was posing great danger to people who pass by. The area has also a lot of little kids.
Informing the ZESA people became a problem as it was on Saturday I assume they did not want have work over the weekend. They could not answer many of our calls.
Those that were answered were said to have reached wrong numbers.
Police were informed as one local boss was present near the scene but could not help as he was reluctant to call the ZESA people himself.
It became a tough situation for us residents as we had no option as to where to report as the responsible authorities as well as the police showed no sign of life.
Please I urge government organizations like the Police to stand in for the people in times of need. Life is important to everyone.
