Taurai Mubhongo a mother of three children almost shed tears as she narrated her ordeal at the hands of Green fuel security guards. It started on the 4th of September when her three cattle were held by Green fuel for trespassing.
She was asked to pay $12 on the 6th of September since one of the cattle was missing. She reported her case with police at Chisumbanje on the 11th of September but could not get help. What makes Taurao Mubhongo angry is the realisation that police at Chisumbanje are unwilling to assist her because the accused guards are from Green fuel. This is a case to confirm that boundary issues remain a threat to coexistence between Greenfuel and villagers.
Majority of members whose cattle were held for trespassing are worried that Green fuel guards were simply capturing their cattle far away from the sugarcane which they claim to be protecting. It is not fair for Greenfuel to charge $4 per cow per day since this was never an agreed decision involving stake holders. Now there is bad blood even within the community as some of the compromised community members are willing to defend Greenfuel.
