Zimbabwe all-rounder Chamunorwa Chibhabha has joined the list of first-class cricket players leaving for England in search of greener pastures during the winter off-season.
The Southern Rocks bowler confirmed last week that he has been signed by Harefield Cricket Club in Middlesex on a six-month overseas contract.
The well-travelled all-rounder will be making his maiden English debut following the path of many of the county's legendary names.
"I signed with Harefield Cricket Club and will be leaving for England this week once all the paper work is finished so that I can catch the first game. Mluleki Nkala set me up with Harefield, he played there a couple of years back and he spoke to them because they were already keen on having me there," said Chibhabha.
Chibhabha, who has 63 One-Day Internationals and 17 Twenty-20 appearances for Zimbabwe, was not offered a central contract by Zimbabwe Cricket and has no obligation to remain in the country.
A product of the famed Takashinga Academy, the medium-pace bowler was also not selected for the recent Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe and will not be available when India comes to tour Zimbabwe later on this year.
"I had committed to Harefield before I had even heard about India coming to Zimbabwe so I will be away for six months and will get back just in time for the domestic season. I am only available after September," he said.
"There is nothing that feels better than representing your country and I would have loved to play India, but I also cherish the experience of playing abroad where I am sure I will also improve my game."
